Silent Hill 2

Here is what a Silent Hill 2 VR Remaster could look like

YouTube’s ‘Hoolopee’ has shared a video, showing what a VR Remaster of Konami’s Silent Hill 2 could look like. Hoolopee has tried to demonstrate how the atmosphere, combat and puzzle-solving of Silent Hill would translate to VR.

Now while this tech demo was running in real-time in Blender, there is no playable version of it. As such, you cannot download it and run it on your PC system.

It’s also worth noting that a lot of assets are ripped straight from the original Silent Hill 2 game. This basically means that a VR Remaster could look even better than what we see in this video.

From what we know so far, Konami does not plan to release a VR remake of Silent Hill 2. There are currently rumours about a possible Silent Hill game from Konami and Kojima Productions. According to these rumours, PT’s Silent Hills may be resurrected. Again, these are rumours and nothing more at this point, so take them with a grain of salt.

  1. I just played Silent Hill 2 for the first time last month. What a great game. Story and atmosphere were top notch.

I’m having a hard time getting into Silent Hill 3 as much. Wish there was a fan made HD patch like the one for Silent Hill 2. The PC version’s controls are all messed up.

  2. Except that VR would ruin Silent Hill 2 which was dependent on not being able to see what you’re doing 90% of the time.

Imagine doing the hospital basement escape sequence and actually being able to navigate past the shelves with ease. lol. Or anything else in the game.
