Square Enix has just released an official gameplay reveal trailer for People Can Fly’s upcoming game, Outriders. Outriders is an RPG shooter set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe.
As its description reads:
“Players will create their own Outrider and embark on a journey across a hostile planet. With rich storytelling spanning a diverse world, they will leave behind the slums and shanty towns of the First City and traverse forests, mountains and deserts in pursuit of a mysterious signal.”
Now as the trailer suggests, the footage you are about to see does not represent the quality of the final product. Thus, People Can Fly may change some things in the final version.
Outriders also promises to combine intense gunplay with violent powers, along with an arsenal of increasingly twisted weaponry and gear-sets.
Lastly, Square Enix plans to release this game in Holiday 2020.

Pretty sure i spotted this gun at 0:18 in shadow warrior 2. Also this looks like destiny and anthem, but seems to be more singleplayer focused with open world and story. So far meh, but i wouldnt say garbage.

except perhaps Unreal and Unity( to some extent) not much has changed engine-wise. but when they DO make an effort, you can clearly see how breathtaking those tech demos sometimes look, and how smoothly they run on even mid-range PCs.
That’s a great point. Most game engines are not ready for next gen. Many game engines can’t even handle the threads available to them right now. It takes technological genius to get the most out of these things, and there just aren’t that many of them around. But, when they show up it’s impressive.

The last game from these guys seems to have been Bulletstorm and since then they havent done much except for help out with Fortnite. Its very likely this is a pet project thats been in the works since the time when the likes of Destiny was still being hyped as the new Halo.
Bulletstorm was awesome, vibrant decaying world, cool combat mechanics and gun mods. It was the best FPS blockbuster in my opinion. People Can Fly should just make a worthy sequel for new hardware not try to get on the microtransactions in a multiplayer FPS bandwagon.
The only thing in this trailer that looks good is the raiders. Better than fallout 4 anyway.

Regardless of the game, apparently comments here are about who can one-up the previous edge lord comment. Its far easier to complain than to offer viable solutions or concepts. Looks better than Gears of War but that is not saying much these days.
Gears 5 could have been good if m$ didn’t stuff it with mtx and bulletsponge enemies. Atleast here you’ll have magic spells on top, so the player can see new splashy particles when holding left mouse button gets tiring.
I like a female protagonist, and they don’t always have to be Victoria’s Secret models (especially if they are wearing armour), but come on, if you’re going to do short hair you can still make it flattering. I love a woman that can rock a pixie cut or a bob, but even a woman that looks good with her head completely bald has to be better than this crew cut look. A woman isn’t made strong just because you deny her femininity.
Otherwise the game looks like another take on heroic looter-shooter action, so I can’t really say much about that until we see some actual gameplay.
In the first few secs, I saw “Square Enix’ as publisher… That’s where I close the video. Incoming Denuvo, #FCKDRM, i like to own what i pay for. No thanks…
It’s so bizarre to see women with less hair than most men today. At least in mainstream stuff anyway. Not exactly sure what’s wrong with conventional femininity but alright. Other than that there’s not really much else to add. It’s probably the most generic looking game I’ve seen this year I guess. Felt kinda brain dead sitting through all that.

Can’t argue with those points. I’ve been going through such a nostalgic trip lately and looking back on a lot of things it’s amazing to see how much has changed. I’ve always been aware but looking back on a lot of things it really does make you wonder where society has gone wrong. I know a lot of our problems today stem from social media. As you pointed out, sites like Twitter are heavily infested with third wave feminists, who really left a bad mark on what the movement was initially about.
I also think the reason why a lot of people seem to think the way they do nowadays is due to this notion that we must embrace one another and accept the fact that we’re all equals. It’s why we’re seeing beloved franchises being tarnished, because there’s this belief that the only we can improve as nations is that if everything was made for everyone. Some examples like the encouragement of young men and boys into the beauty industry and women into the army.
One of the main issues I’ve been observing is that whenever something becomes popular (whether it be a game, movie, a form of literature or a collection of art: hand-drawn or architectural) it then becomes a target by negative influences. It’s really difficult to understand why a lot of these visionaries give into those sorts of pressures. The only excuse I can think of is so they can avoid being blacklisted by potential partners in the future. I mean didn’t the developers behind The Last Night scare away investors after the controversy surrounding the main guy behind it? It’s a crazy world we live in if your livelihood can flipped upside-down because of thing you may have said years back which you’ve completely forgotten about.
Living in London I can confirm that we’re being ruled by a bunch of nutcases. That bikini ad was probably one of the biggest highlights of the last decade when it comes to the topic of political correctness. But hopefully the recent elections will tide things over.
But as for gaming and the beauty standards we come to expect from it: there’s just no knowing the future holds for the industry. All I can say is that I’ve certainly given up in AAA games for a while and have been looking back into older games and modern indie titles. Every once in a full moon there comes a modern AAA game that meet the standards of most hardcore gamers, but they seem to be mostly coming from Japanese devs from the looks of it. And at times they’re console exclusives. Ghost of Tsushima has the nice looking vistas which is lacking in a lot of high budget games but it just annoys me how these games are console exclusive. Would be cool to see games like Crysis make a comeback for sure. Makes me wonder how it would look like if they released it today as a PC title first.

Well it’s becoming more clear on a daily basis that the left are getting out of hand. Even celebrities that are heavily involved in all these trends seem like they wanna put an end to it but can’t without their own fanbase attacking them (J.K. Rowling & Stephen King). Well I just checked that out that “degradation of a fanbase/hobby” image. It’s pretty depressing how much of it is true, something we can all relate to. Although I’m not fussed if girls or casuals play games, so long they aren’t suddenly stepping into whatever community it is just so they can enforce their own ideologies. Agreed. It doesn’t help much that these games are designed that way to allow their microtransactions to be the focal point of the experience. The next generations is pretty much doomed in my opinion. Found out the other day the PS5 may potentially implement an Alexa-like AI system that all games will likely be developed around. Sony may end up forcing devs to add the the system to their games in order for them to be greenlit on the system. Why is it concerning for many people? The AI’s only function is to aid players, whether they’re struggling or not and will insist them on buying items (with their real money) that could likely help them out in whatever situation they’re in.
The technology has clearly had a lot of thought put into it because it’ll detect where you are, what items you have and lack and will give you probability of how well you can pass certain situations if you were to purchase that popular $4.99 crossbow. Single player games could even become a grindfest just so they can make this feature useful. This means if it they can get away with it a lot of games will suffer as a result because they’ll have to be designed around a system that only serves to squeeze out any many cash from people’s wallets as possible. It’s pretty sickening how evil these publishers can get.
There’s only very few publishers out there I can think of that are at least trying to stay true to their fans but the bigger ones like Sony have greater control over the entire industry. So whatever they come up with could even impact the PC community.
I’ll wait for the movie, though.
