Evidently Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was a big success in the United States of America. The game outsold every other title, even the sports titans NBA 2K20 and Madden NFL 20. Of course Call of Duty games are familiar with such success.
Borderlands 3, Mortal Kombat 11 and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order follow the previous mentioned games along the list. The industry generated 14.581 billion US dollars in sales from video game hardware, full-game software, accessories and game cards.
There was a thirteen percent drop compared to 2018, which was at 16.695 billion. The biggest drag were hardware sales with a twenty two percent drop from 5 billion to 3.9 billion US dollars. You can check the charts of the best-selling games of the year 2019 below.

Top selling isn’t the “only” selling. But yeah, US does have cultural domination all over the world and it does make many non US citizens very salty. That’s true.
In Europe you see fifa/pes in those same spots so stupidity is universal

Really hope the good Jedi Fallen Order sales mean EA continues to let developers make single player experiences like that. Maybe even let Bioware be Bioware again, or at least 10 percent of what they once were.
Crazy, not one indie game made that list(not sure Minecraft counts anymore). I suppose that list should not really surprise us though. Still I never thought COD be number 1, that’s insane.
Damn… not gonna get discouraged as an indie dev and one that has chosen to specialize in modern 2D. Having said that now I sort of wish I had went to 3D instead cause it looks like that is what the majority mostly care about 🙁 . Anyways I am sure a lot of gamers still appreciate and respect what a lot of us indie devs create. List or no list this won’t change My mind or direction.
Also I am really happy Days Gone made the list and also BL3 + RE2.
