Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok potentially leaked on Amazon

The next installment of Assassin’s Creed might be in the Viking era. There was rumor back in May, but it ended being fake. Also, there was an easter egg in The Division 2, featuring a Viking holding an Apple of Eden in a poster.

Recently the game has been listed on the Italian GameStop site and the Amazon in Germany. Of course the listing has already being taken down. Meaning that could very easily be fake, even if we already know that Ubisoft is working on the next Assassin’s Creed.

After the underwhelming sales of The Division 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ubisoft announced the delay of several titles like Watch Dogs Legion and Rainbox Six Quarantine. So maybe they are doing the same with the new Assassin’s Creed.

Honestly I was hoping for a Feudal Japan setting, you know, samurais, ninjas and everything else that makes complete sense in an Assassin’s Creed game. Unfortunately the series went to another direction. The same direction that every Ubisoft game seems to go, nowhere.

Let’s hope the delays will provide the time needed to make something worthwhile. Something that really deserves the asking price and not something that looks the same with every other Ubisoft game that came out the last few years.

There is no official statement from Ubisoft yet. This is just a rumor at the moment so take it with a grain of salt. If anything changes we will make sure to let you know.

Thanks Metro.

  1. Is there anyone who still play Assasins Creed games? Ubisoft should reboot that game and create something like Jedi Fallen Order

        1. “The AC sub-reddit hates it”

well its reddit but why they hate it, is it because of how historically inaccurate it is?

        2. exactly ,if I wanna play an RPG I’ll have a ton of much better titles to choose from. I don’t need another RPG AC which by the way incorporates its RPG elements through a process of trail and error as opposed to learning from the likes of Mass Effect.
The series was famous for its top-notch action that empowered the player not enrage them. (having to stab a regular soldier 200 times)

IMHO, a true AC would be a blend of ACBF, 2 and 3’s combat and 1 and 2’s world design and story.

        3. Omg, it’s just an AC game with Witcher mechanics. It’s not a big deal. I feel like you people didn’t even play the recent ones. Odyssey has you sneaking around and assassinating people and all they post is NOT AC. They have a compelling modern day story and decent DLC content that connects directly to Origins and directly to the whole series.

      1. You explored one Island you saw the whole game. Repetitive not only in the combat and quest design, but also environments.

      2. Hell no, grindfest garbage, compare origins to odyssey it looks like a joke lol. The cutscenes of Bayak were f@@king amazing, Odyssey was trash with massive grinding.

      3. For me all Assasins Creed have shallow combat and weak stories in huge and boring open worlds. New Jedi Fallen Order is different – good story, perfect combat, nice platforming – just good and fun gameplay. Jedi is shorter but give me more fun than any “open world” game

        1. you’re supposed to be an assassin. dark souls combat system is designed for faggets like you who like video games that force them to either dodge or roll or do both like a queer.

      4. Of course people loved it. Now, is it different than a completely city-based AC game? Sure. But I guess people are dumb enough to think that means it’s a bad game for some reason. There’s been like a half dozen games like that and now 2 are more open world and people think they’ll never see a traditional AC game again for some reason. Stupid sub-reddits are full of people who are never satisfied with anything, let’s be honest. Then moron Chris Kuntouras acts like his opinion is more than just an opinion. What a dope.

    1. That is what they did, the last two games are solid and basically reboots and a new formula they came up with. The game plays more like the Witcher 3 or BOTW but still feels like AC but with a loot + progression systems and RPG mechanics.

      1. they have to evolve the gameplay, a little at a time or people will complain that it’s exactly like the last one, but in a different setting, they wont sell as much

  2. I want a Feudal Japan AC game since the third one…oh well..i guess they’ll continue the formula they made since Origins…i would like them to go back to its roots..when “stealth” (the illusion of it) was the focus.

    1. “focus on stealth + japan”

This game is called Sekiro Shadow Die Twice. Great game but too hard. It will be perfect with difficulty settings like in Jedi Fallen Order

      1. Well, you have Tenchu before your “GOTY”…the weakest of the FromSoft games imho…
Anyways, the setting is a obvious fit for the series, so.

      2. Sekiro was in no way a game that focused on stealth and the assassin’s POV and mindset. It was an action game with a great story and yes, you could sneak up on guards looking the other way… but that wasn’t what From was giving us.

An AC game set in feudal Japan (or China) – at the level of detail and layered content the series is at now – would be impressive and quite different than the path Sekiro takes as a standalone adventure.

  3. I would also love a Japan setting but the only thing that i hope more is that it is different than their previous games, i was tired of grinding things simply to be able to pass missions…

  4. this pathetic series need to die, It reminds me of total war dlcs. same games, same engine, same feel of the games and same low iq queer fanbase who buy and eat whatever bone and used condom devs throw at them.

  5. Origins was ok, tho performance was complete garbage. To the people who say Odyssey was good they are foking idiots. I have no idea how the game has such reviews on steam lol.

      1. it is completely different THEY HAVENT DONE IT YET, i agree with author , after nordic should be feudal japan ninja sh*t

        1. Oh like that hasn’t been done before. Tenchu, Tenchu 2, Tenchu 3 TEnchu z, Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden 2, Ninja Gaiden 3, Dynasty Warriors, Dynasty warriors 2….etc…etc….Samurai Warriors….Romance of the Three Kingdoms…

    1. They be called Nikings?! 😀
And they will be raiding all the “white” lands until the whole game world is black!

    2. i mean, where is the lie?

AC odyssey, the spartans had a navy and half the soldiers were women.

edit who are the two morons who downvoted this?

      1. People watch too much tv and are stupid. They just believe everything they see, like they don’t believe there were black cowboys but the fact is about a third of cowboys were former slaves who needed work. I mean wtf did you think they did post civil war? I had this huge argument with a guy that didn’t believe there were black romans. Even though the Roman Empire extended to parts of Africa, and a majority in the Roman Empire were brown people.

It just makes no sense to me they get hung up on people being black or women being in a game, but Odyssey had freaking mythological creatures.

        1. “and a majority in the Roman Empire were brown people.”

          WE WAS ROMANZ AND SHIET.

          F*k off dude.

“It just makes no sense to me they get hung up on people being black or women being in a game, but Odyssey had freaking mythological creatures.”

Might as well go all the way though, fantasy weapons, fantasy enemies, fantasy story, go further towards than path instead of most of the enemies you fight being humans. Make a rpg in ancient greece that has mythological creatures..i know “titanquest” but its a repetitive diablo clone.

  6. if ubi still sell only on specific store, good bye too all Ubisoft game (already doing this since Division 2)

    1. how about babylon in mesopotamia, or celts, mongolians, pigmy people, aztecs, incans, robin hood, translyvania, king arthur, if they keep sticking to real historical no imagination settings there gonna run out real quick, i would like a robin hood a*s creed personally

    2. The Japanese themselves make tons of games with the setting. Idk why people want a bunch of french dudes to make one too. Why, cuz ninjas? Wow so original.

  7. How about giving this series a spin, and make it rest/retire for a while ? This AC franchise needs to stop at least for some time, IMO.

UBISoft should try some other setting/theme, which has little to no connection with HISTORY whatsoever. More like a Modern sci-fi ASSASSIN’s Game, with some futuristic setup and environment.

The DEVs should try a new formula. I like NORDIC and Viking setup, but we already have few games based on this. So a Modern take on AC would be a welcome change.

Imagine a sci-fi assassin stealth rpg Game, lol….:D

      1. Only in setting… You weren’t playing like an Assassin in those sections. You were just progressing through a small map/obstacle climb and then the same press counter/press attack fighting mechanics on a handful of enemies, then back to the Animus.

    1. if they did a futuristic game, then it would be too hard to top it next time, and how the hell is that supposed to work , people use that device in game to go back in time in genetic memory, you cant go back in time to a futuristic scifi setting

      1. But you can be a future assassin who uses the animus to go back in time to modern day. I’ve been waiting for them to do that twist for awhile but they never did.

    2. I like how i get to discover cities and stuff, cuz its literally like history. Other than that… ye, its kind of boring now. But the exploration is really cool. Riding a boat in egypt was the best.

    3. A sci-fi AC would be awesome but the reason they can’t do this this year(especially) is that Cyberpunk 2077 drops and everyone would just troll them that they are cashing in on 2077 or flat out copying it. As much as most dislike Ubisoft they have real tough shoes to walk in.

I personally love the idea and can’t wait to play a sci-fi version of AC seems perfect for it! Having said that like I said I am a fan of the series and the last two are easily the best in the series. If they continue to change the setting and keep making it better as they have been I will probably not get burnt out for I enjoy that style of game and want more.

Anyways I 100% get what your saying, fingers crossed hey. Really the sky is the limit with AC they could do any time line they want, 30s Mafia style, BC Cave Man style, Sci-Fi, made up World, WWI or II, Western, pretty much anything they want.

        1. I never understood that since they allow horses, camels, carriages(in Syndicate), etc which are all basically primitive cars.

Must be anything with electronics that cause the catatonic state I guess, but if that is the case then it seems like a Sci-Fi AC could never happen since it be filled with electronics and other distortion.

At least they could do a Prehistoric / Horizon Zero Dawn type AC and a Western which would be cool. Shame about the others, also I suppose if you go too modern then the game would sort of blend into Splinter Cell(kind of).

Still it could happen if they just patch the Animus since it states those memories are just difficult to get. But then again it would cross into to many of their other IP’s like I said. Who knows, I am good with a Viking game for now.

    4. I would’ve loved a modern Assassin’s Creed game. The moments in AC3 and the recent Odyssey and Origins modern day parts were pretty good to me.

And with the animus, there’s no reason you couldn’t play the role of an assassin in the future who is experiencing the memories of someone modern day.

  8. “Honestly I was hoping for a Feudal Japan setting, you know, samurais, ninjas ”

You know at this rate when they make that, it wil be a mmo action rpg always online with a ton of grinding and post launch content and enemies will take a bazillion of hits and have nothing to do with assassin creed story.

  9. a viking setting just sounds like an extension of origins/odyssey. this series needs a long hiatus or a reinvention.

  10. Each of the last 4 AC’s were fantastic. There was a 2 year gap between Unity/Syndicate and Origins/Odyssey, and the quality level was maintained even though the structures changed.

No reason to expect the quality to go down. Whatever it ends up being… Norse mythology, Japanese… it should be good.

  11. there’s no such thing as european culture. the culture in scandinavian countries is vastly different than culture in italy, spain and many other countries in europe.
i love it when you inbred americans think you know more about europe than europeans.

      1. what in the shet are you on about brownie. the culture in countries like switzerland and netherland are vastly different than the culture in greece. just because we use the same alphabet (more or less), it doesn’t make us related or similar.
turks use the same alphabet and their culture is more similar to greeks than any european country.
people like you have literal dog shet in their brains, stop watching and reading conservative media nonsense.

  12. OK guys listen: A Mohawk or Iroquois worker working on the Empire State Building in the 1930s; there. Go make AC game.

  13. ubisoft is getting old. nothing but copy-repasta. well that’s the winning formula for them as long as folks keep buying their games and they became lazy and lazier.

they have alot of good franchise under them but they have no balls to do it. basically i can see that they can revive prince or persia or even take the might & magic series to skyrim/witcher like games.

but again they don’t have balls. following witcher still using the Assassin’s brand.

  14. What is it with people and freaking feudal Japan?? It’s so boring. Do you know why it’s boring? Because there was an entire series called TENCHU. Just go play those. Or NINJA GAIDEN. Or any other ninja game. In terms of history, Dynasty Warriors is still getting made. They even had Samurai Warriors. Any samurai game japan puts out. Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Are there any viking games? No. Are there any egyptian games? No. Are there any greek spartan warrior games? eh like a couple.
