Yesterday, Gearbox revealed a new looter slasher for Playstation 5 and the PC, Godfall. And today, I’m happy to report that the first gameplay clip for this title has surfaced online.
Godfall is a third-person fantasy action RPG that focuses on melee combat. The game targets a Holiday 2020 release, and will be timed-exclusive on Epic Games Store. According to Gearbox, the game will come out on other stores twelve months after its EGS release.
Now obviously, this gameplay clip does not represent the quality of the final product. Still, it will give you an idea of what Counterplay Games aims to achieve.
From the looks of it, Godfall will feature a Souls-like combat system. It seems interesting and, to be honest, I prefer this gameplay clip than the cinematic in-engine trailer we got yesterday.

Yea, and with mods, many times those classics can become all new experiences.
it looks good in my opinion. the developers chose to make a game with artistic graphics. many artists are this way. like anything from Telltale Games. it’s their artistic decision.
It looks like a mess, there’s nothing artistic about this, it’s just a chinese overdesigned mess with some fancy effects and high quality assets.
It looks about as “artistic” as Destiny or Outer Worlds.
YEah…is artistic..not so creative tho. Too close in design to Destiny, Warframe, Anthem…

There’s a HUGE different between console lover/owner and console worshipper. Console worshipper is the worst. I don’t think youre one of them. You can find some of them in gematsu… especially when there’s an console exclusive find its way to PC..
I mean, the game does look outstanding.
Let’s not pretend PC ports these days really get much more than higher resolution/framerate support generally.
While that is true, the graphics shown here (including for instance, the new in engine Hellblade 2 trailer) are nothing out of the regular for PC standards…and they are selling consoles for the graphics first (since that is what your average Joe looks forward to). Im just saying..im not impressed at all, you would expect some ghetto demo take on raytracing at the very least.
Also, console exclusive devs are pretty good at using the limited resources they have.

like how Eve Valkyrie,Hex, and journey all say PS4 and PC.
and yet you have other games on the same console surpassing these titles.
Then is even worse, if the footage is on PC…there is not a big jump in terms of fidelity…consolefags would be on suicide watch for paying a new box to just get…higher framerate and nothing much more?…potentially.
You do realize games will look way better for years to come.
Show me a game that looks like the last of us 2 lol on pc.
ps5 looks like a future mark tech demo.

The only thing that looks decent from that show, i thought that tenchu looking game was better but turns out its a mp game.
That white armor in the trailer looks cool but when GEARBOX are involved? Forget about it.
Armor and setting had me hooked, but then found out it was a yr away and then EGS exclusive and all my hype died, GJ Gearbox. Onto the perma ignore list you go now

They now just how to crush gamers dreams. I think that is Timmy Sweeney’ new mission in life. He despises anyone that refuses to use his store. This will get worse and worse. I’m afraid all this B.S has just began. I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to sony and buy all their exclusives for his store. And sony would totally sell to him because when you have billion of fortnite money laying around, you can overpay for ANY GARbAGE.
In the end, even if I don’t buy these games, he’ll still claim it’s a “healthy multi-store world”, despite the fact that I lost respect and a desire to pay these devs going forward.
Actually, when I think about it, I don’t think any of these devs truly care about anyone, but money, so I’ve little to care for when they go under in the future.
Didn’t Steam stated that if the wait is longer than a month they will not accept the game? So, can we say that there will be no no steam version?
You can’t make a Steam page before release if the wait is longer than a month.
These anti-consumer Epic store exclusives have saved me so much money.
