Halo: Reach will support mods for its single-player campaign

Halo: Reach is coming to the PC later today and 343 Industries has confirmed that mods will work on the single-player campaign mode. According to the developers, Halo: Reach is coming with an Anticheat on the PC that players can disable while launching the game.

By disabling Anticheat, PC gamers will be able to play the single-player campaign, as well as some custom matches. Obviously, this will also be a work around for enabling/using mods.

As 343 Industries stated when a fan asked whether the game will support mods.

“We’re still working to improve this down the road, but for now you will have an option when you launch to bypass anticheat. This will allow you to play around with campaign and customs but not allow you to play any match made games. I highly suggest making a copy/backup of anything you modify so you’ll be able to switch back and forth easily.”

Halo: Reach releases later today. Microsoft has not sent us a review code, however, we’ve already purchased the game so we can share our first performance impressions of it.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Great news. This is quite the turnaround for Microsoft since the initial dark days of Windows 10 Store UWP. Bravo!

      1. I’ll most likely wait for the full collection to be complete before buying it. I certainly won’t be buying it on faith before then because I trust Microsoft about as much as the next person!

  2. “Microsoft has not sent us a review code”

They are very greedy. To whom they even send keys? from what i know Microsoft doesn’t send you s***t unless you are some console fanboy with 1mil minimum subs on YT.

  3. Hi, Halo: Reach already has over 100,000 players on Steam….

Halo: The Master Chief Collection has arrived on PC, starting with Halo: Reach. While the game is also available via Xbox Game Pass (for PC) and on the Microsoft Store, the game’s Steam release has proven to be incredibly popular, reaching a concurrent player count of over 100,000 on Steam within two hours of the game’s release.

This makes Halo: The Master Chief Collection one of Steam’s most popular releases
of 2019, placing the game 4th on Steam’s concurrent players chart at the time of writing….

    1. It’s almost like the vast overwhelming majority of PC gamers couldn’t care less for the graveyard of gaming that is Windows 10 Store and that Microsoft were consequently forced into recognising that apparent truth. Who’d have thunk it!
