After numerous hints and leaks, Rockstar Games has officially announced its worst kept secret. Yeap, it’s official now. Red Dead Redemption 2 is officially coming to the PC platform on November 5th.

Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC features a range of graphical and technical enhancements for increased immersion along with new Bounty Hunting Missions, Gang Hideouts, Weapons and more.
Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC also includes free access to the shared living world of Red Dead Online featuring all previously released improvements and the latest content updates for the complete online experience including Frontier Pursuits and the specialist Roles of Bounty Hunter, Trader and Collector for players to progress through and earn unique rewards.
What’s really important to note here is that the game will be available first on the Epic Games Store. Naturally, it will also be available on Rockstar’s Launcher. Moreover, the game will come out on Steam a month later (December 2019).
Lastly, Rockstar Games will reveal the first screenshots, system specifications and additional details on October 9th.

Torn on this one. I loved the first RDR, and we really don’t get any Western games outside of this series, but R* and Take Two are some of the worst companies in the industry (especially to PC gamers). We’ll see if I end up grabbing it.

Really puts into perspective how much R* treats PC gamers like sh*t. We already have to wait a year longer than consoles so they can milk a few more sales, then they go EGS exclusive (thankfully only for 1 month), you can bet you’ll need to have their bloatware running in the background on Epic or Steam (be it Social Club or the new R* Launcher), and Denuvo is an inevitability. Not to mention their legacy titles run like sh*t on modern OS’ (GTA IV is still so f*cked from GFWL they can’t even make it work on their new launcher).
I really want to play the game considering I loved the first one and we get ZERO western games outside of RDR, but there isn’t a company out there I hate to support more than R* and Take Two.

Denuvo is irrelevant, it delays as best. Online is what kept MK11 from being cracked, but it also made Denuvo insignificant, which goes to show how little big publishers know about it. Rockstar can do the same, but given that their launcher already has connectivity issues on its own, online only for RDR would give them reduced sales and increased backlash. If that’s worth it to them…

I tried to play it last year, and it didn’t even boot lol. I just really miss the game, I played it on my friend’s PS3 back in the day and really enjoyed the grittier, more realistic story.

Glad I’m not the only one. Played this on PS4 after my brother finished with it. I lasted about 2 hours and gave it back.
If this is considered “awesome” by the masses, then “gaming” is in bigger trouble than even I realized.
It’s not having to play the sacrifices made on the consoles, not to mention the modding community has been waiting for it. Having to play a vanilla console version is always going to be boring. Third-party games pretty much suck to play on consoles.
It starts out real real slow. Gets good eventually but getting there is a real slog.
Not looking to start a back and forth. but you didn’t even get to the game. The 1st 3 – 4 hours are slow paced and introducing you to the world and the characters in it. That may seem like a long time to do that type of thing, but it takes a good 100+ hours to complete if you take your time and enjoy any of the world building, so in that light it’s but a small portion of the game.
This will still be a much better experience to be played on a PC vs on a console, as with all third-party titles.
I disagree. While I liked John Marston’s story in RDR1, I think Arthur is one of the best protagonists in gaming and the way they told the story of his journey to redemption was sublime. The world in RDR 2 is so much more alive too, from the side missions at each of the hub cities, to the wildlife, the scenery is amazing, even the Stranger missions, all were better than RDR1 imo. You can just live in that world and feel as if you are really in the late 1800’s west.

Player base margin for launchers is really pointless to pc gamers as they are not locked into steam or hardware like consoles they can easily download a launcher a play a game. One of the only real benefits for the devs/publishers with steam is advertising and it doesn’t really apply here as it is already such a high profile game.

I hate to say it, but you might as well get it on R* launcher. Considering how they released their last few games, you’re likely going to have to have that or Social Club running with either the EGS or Steam version. I see no reason to buy games through a 3rd party store when they just have more layers of DRM added to them.

Well, it looks like they will be getting money from me a 3rd time. RDR2 is in my top 3 games of all time list.I bought the Xbox one version for the sp with 4k graphics and hdr and I bought the ps4 version to play online with my kids who don’t own Xboxes and now I will be buying it to play it the way it was meant to be played. As good as it looked on Xbox, it should be photo realistic on a highend pc.
Just to be clear, I mean the Steam release in Dec. I have played the SP for over 100 hours, so I can wait.Unfortunately, I fear there will be many, many gamers who will not have the fortitude to do the same.

The PC version will also run at 60fps and above unlike the crappy 30fps (at best!) of all console versions.
Agreed, I should have stated Xbox One X though, and even at 30 fps on that platform it looked stunning, and was rock steady at 30 fps at least, instead of dropping frames like all hte other consoles.
