Wilson C has announced that a new demo for his indie first-person shooter, Trepang2, will be coming out soon on Steam. This demo will feature a prologue mission with some fun extras, and will come with a full body dismemberment system. As such, the torso of enemies can be destroyed, and head/limbs can be further gibbed into smaller gibs.
Alongside the aforementioned features, the new demo will sport new reload animations. It will also have a horde mode in which you can fight 20 waves of increasingly tougher squads of soldiers. Not only that, but the demo will also sport a Field of View slider.
In order to showcase the new dismemberment system, Wilson C and his team released some new videos. We suggest watching them if you want to see the new dismemberment system in action.
Trepang2 looks pretty cool and is definitely a game for all those that enjoyed the first FEAR game. However, we suggest keeping in mind that this is an indie game. Therefore, expect it to be rough around the edges.

Needs more obnoxious post-processing effects
excellent.
wholesale copy man. skilled hands go to waste like this. hope they go original next time cause the ability is defo there. That being said, the original FEAR itself is a masterpiece.
Nice tech demo, to bad there will probably never be anything cohesive to actually play.
I’ve missed gibs in games, cool!
fear had a very clean and crisp image quality, this game doesn’t. i’ve played an earlier version and it was a blurry mess like it is now.
True, but i think it’s too early to judge the game. I’ll personally wait for the final product. But i’d like to remove this blurry effect and make everything more clean and simple.
yeah as someone who has probably replayed the original FEAR campaign more than any other game, I still think it’s awesome what they’ve done here and look forward to more. No reason to be negative about it.
FEAR-inspired game?
Count me in!
Looks interesting. Like, for me, nothing can beat the original F.E.A.R., but would be nice to add this one to my library. Really like the new engine.
it doesnt have to beat fear it has to get close to be a good game.
It looks awesome.
realy nice
This is shaping up quite nicely.
Count me in, as long as it doesn’t get snatched up by EGS.
Nice ?
All of the impact forces that launch opponents and their body parts to fly around need to be scaled down by an order of magnitude, and blood decals need to be reduced in size and amount drastically as well. It would be a waste of these features if they remained comical. They hurt immersion in this state.
Yup!
Currently, it looks far from “realistic”! Also the AI needs a lil bit of tweaking…seems like theenemies freeze in place at times…
Can’t find anything called “Trepang2” on Steam.
