Nightdive Studios has officially announced that it is working on System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition. Unfortunately, and besides that, the team did not reveal any additional details. As such, we don’t know the enhancements and improvements that will be coming to this classic shooter.

My guess is that, similarly to pretty much all of Nightdive’s remasters, there won’t be a lot of changes or visual improvements. Instead, the team will most likely focus on making the game work on modern-day operating systems.
Nightdive Studio has already re-released numerous classic first-person shooters. Blood: Fresh Supply, Forsaken Remastered, Turok Remaster and System Shock: Enhanced Edition are some of them. The team is also working on a proper remake of the first System Shock game.

Why is this game so special, again?
Its one of the best fps/horror/rpgs ever made. A good chance you would have never seen Dues Ex, Bioshock, Prey and a half a dozen other games if not for this game.
Huh. Interesting. I never played System Shock. Does it worth a try in 2019?
System Shock 1, while ground backing and amazing, its REALLY hard to go to through these days unless you have nostaligia driving you. System Shock 2 with mods is still playable today. The gameplay and story are still top notch. There are audio mods, and graphic overhauls.
Do you like Thief, Dishonored, Deus Ex, Bioshock, Prey 2017? If yes, then absolutely.

I have to agree with durka durka. Why. I love night dive. I love system shock 2. But There are a TON of mods for System Shock 2 that make this game extremely playable these days.
What for? its perfectly functional with mods. By the way play system shock infinite mod. Seems like this will be like blood fresh supply that you are better off playing blood gdx. They should do turok 4 instead or eradicator with modern resolution. oh oh, dark forces and outlaws.Or modernize the controls of power slave…he pc version not the console version.
BY THE WAY wtf happened to the first game remake?
Its still being made. I am a backer for the remake and still getting up dates. Check out the kickstarter page for it. Basically they rebooted it. They changed engines IIRC. And at the start they admit they went a little too nuts, they were too ambitious and wanted to do too much to the point it didn’t resemble the original anymore. Its still coming. And looking good.
I hope its a complete rework of the engine with ragdol physics and what not. Otherwise whats the point? There are mods that increase the texture resolution and chances are that is all this enhanced game will be.
