RockPaperShotgun has released a new video, showing 11 minutes of brand new gameplay footage from the PC version of The Surge 2. According to RPS, this PC demo allowed them to explore the park district, take on new soldier AI – and their cloaking devices – try out a range of spears, lances and axes (and the finishing moves they trigger) and test the game’s new drone.
The Surge 2 will have double the number of weapon classes (than its predecessor) and the weapon skill system will be enhanced and upgraded. As said, the game also features an upgraded drone, will have more bosses and a large variety of enemies, the AI will be improved/enhanced, and some enemies will have guns.
The combo mechanics have also been completely rewritten. Furthermore, lots of fighting and combo mechanics have been upgraded and there is a lot more flexibility in cooldowns now. Also, levels will be more interconnected and traversing the world will be possible in many more layers now.
The Surge 2 is currently planned for release later this year.
Enjoy!

That looks faster and more responsive than the first game.
Looks great.
Looks interesting. Might check it out if it won’t ditch Steam and become EGS exclusive.
They were asking for beta testers on Steam recently. Wouldnt put it past them though
Lords of the Fallen 2, Code Vein > Surge 2.
Mute the sound so you don’t hear the faget RPS commenteer. Unbearable soy.
OK ,really liked the first Surge but the lack of a map is what made me giving up in the end.
No map no sugar from me.
There was a map on the scenery, but most of these games don’t come with a map.
True, still there are maps with so many levels it ends up chaotic Still I really did enjoy the Gameplay
The problem wasnt so much that there wasnt a map (the ones on the wall were utterly useless) but that many of the environments were samey so orienting was harder than it needed to be. If they introduce some notable stuff in the level design, this one could be better there.
Most levels are fine, except for the last one which was extra confusing.
6/10
