Vampyr has sold more than one million copies worldwide

Focus Home Interactive and DONTNOD Entertainment have announced that Vampyr, the first game of their partnership, has sold more than a million copies to this date. As such, the companies have decided to renew their partnership.

John Bert, COO of Focus Home Interactive, said:

“We are delighted to continue the adventure with the team at DONTNOD who have already amply demonstrated their talents to create rich universes, enhanced by a masterful narrative and unique artistic direction. We are proud to once again allow the talent of the studio to express itself on this new project which is intended to be among the most ambitious in the history of FOCUS and DONTNOD.”

DONTNOD CEO Oskar Guilbert added:

“We are excited to be strengthening our successful relationship with FOCUS HOME INTERACTIVE. Their proven and effective marketing, their ability to address new digital distribution channels, their experienced teams and the convergence of our editorial visions makes FOCUS an ideal partner for our new game. Vampyr is a great success and we are very happy to develop this partnership with this exciting new project.”

According to the press release, DONTNOD will be working on a really ambitious new project (which will be obviously published by Focus Home).

    1. Its probably same even now, I was the one who played day 1 since I pre-ordered on steam. My god what a trash game.

      1. I agree. Gameplay isn’t very good and story ughh story was alright but very typical for a vampire style game. I stopped playing halfway through because of gameplay mechanic such as mobs respawning in areas after you’ve cleared it

    1. Imagine if everyone was still using pre-launch demos! You wouldn’t need to pirate a game like ever, especially if you instantly find out how bad it is.

  1. I actually buyed this game, but after an hour i refunded it. The combat looks boring, the story doesn’t seem interesting, runs bad even though i have a GTX 1070 Ti. That’s bad optimization right there. I do like the protagonist and the punk victorian style. Nothing else, sadly.

  2. Everything I read painted this game as a disappointment. But people buy a lot of bad games so that’s no surprise.

    1. How about you try the game yourself? It’s pretty dumb to call something bad because small vocal group of people said so. The game has plenty of fans.

  3. Still waiting for something decent coming from this company.
I just hate those cringe teen novels they’ve released.
Thought this one would be good, but damn, you play for 30 minutes and the urge to play Rambo: The Video Game kicks in!

  4. Daamn reading the comments every single person here just hated it huh?

I quite liked it! But then I like janky action-RPGs.

    1. Janky would be something like Gothic on the good side or Boiling Point 1/2 on the meh side. This game is just formulaic and can’t decide if they want to make a WW1 drama or an current year soap opera like Life is SJW.

  5. Was a great game. On paper.

I tried to like it but it just didn’t work for me personally. I did watch a few segments recorded by others that showed that many people did apparently enjoy it so good for them (or perhaps this is a preferred “watch only” title for a few minutes here and there).

  6. Say what you want people, but I loved and adored this game. It’s something the industry badly needed. Every bloody game has the same pew pew pew mechanics or some PvP online BS. So yes, I loved this game because we don’t get many vampire games. I can’t wait to see where the story ends up. Very Good Game, also DRM-Free. All focus Home Interactive games can be booted up independently of steam. They just use steam as downloader, without their DRM features. ?

  7. I gave the game a go, but the gameplay from the get-go was so old-fashioned. Combat / movement is wooden.
