Respawn officially confirms Apex Legends; to be revealed on Monday at 8AM PT

Respawn has just confirmed via its official Twitter account that its rumoured game, Apex Legends, is real and will be officially revealed on Monday at 8AM PT. The team aims to reveal the game via a stream, so expect lots of gameplay videos (as well as its official first details).

From what we know so far, Apex Legends will be a free to play Titanfall Hero Battle Royale game that will feature classes/heroes with unique abilities, maximum of 60 players per server, and will offer 3v3 matches. Apex Legends will run on a modified version of Valve’s Source engine and as its description suggests, there won’t be any Titans to control.

Naturally, and given its free to play nature, the game will come with micro-transactions and lootboxes for cosmetic items. These microtransactions will be similar to those featured in Overwatch so hopefully this won’t turn into a pay to win game.

EA and Respawn has already let some streamers play Apex Legends and it has received positive impressions from them. But anyway, we’ll have more to share later today when the stream goes live so stay tuned for more!

  1. Friendly reminder that this franchise with two failed games (2 was fine) has a new iteration while Dead Space is well, dead.

    1. Dead Space is dead because it turned into absolute trash made to pedal MTX and designed completely around it, and a poor imitation of RE4 at its best. Good riddance.

  2. And yet million casual Will play this and spend hundred dollar for lootbox, instead supporting high quality single player…and of course EA will make tons like this in the future…

  3. I think FTP is smart for this title. I’m not interested in battle royale but I can see this as garnering a strong audience.

  4. Titanfall 2 was such an overlooked game, very fast and require crazy skills and had a nice single player.

Well i hope this crap will succeed financially so we might see a titanfall 3

      1. no. but thats why no one will play it after the first month. also its a titan fall game, but without the titans. dumb. literally the only reason people bough tf1/2 and they take it out, lol. cant wait to this dev goes bankrupt. hope there upcoming soy wars game flops.

      2. youre right. itll be even worse. Now go back to your fantasy manga killing orcs and riding monsters and monster animals!

  5. These low quality BR apps are so quick and cheap investment cash cows to crap out relative to big quality titles that we didn’t even catch wind of this one coming. People forget that PUBG was built by a few guys and when just a little extra cash by a giant publisher is added they can make a polished turd look nice and shiny like that COD microtransaction scam that everyone exchanged over a big budget game that would include everything before PLUS that low investment BR crap they like. But because it’s “fun with friends” garbage its like they are wearing horse blinders to the rest of gaming potential if they just held companies accountable and were more responsible consumers.

This will just be another mobile model, microtransaction EA scam like all the others.

  6. no titans? whats the point then? could have been interestiing spin on the royale game type now its just black ops 4 or whatever the battle-royal ops game is called

  7. Really enjoyed Titanfall and Titanfall 2. Can’t say that the prospect of Titanfall minus titans battle royale F2P holds any appeal though.
