At CES 2019, NVIDIA has confirmed that Bioware’s Anthem will support its DLSS tech, Deep Learning Super Sampling. DLSS is perhaps the most promising tech we’ve seen from NVIDIA (as real-time ray tracing is still a lot of demanding even for RTX2080Ti) so we are glad that more developers are adopting it.
Now while I can’t talk much about Anthem’s PC performance at this point, I can tell you that the game looks great and that it will definitely benefit from DLSS.
Bioware and NVIDIA have not revealed whether Anthem will support DLSS from the get-go. And to be honest this is our biggest gripe with DLSS right now. NVIDIA had announced a bunch of games that would be supporting it, from newer releases like Darksiders 3 to older games like PUBG, but right now there is only one game supporting it (Final Fantasy XV).
NVIDIA needs to step up its game and fulfil its DLSS promises sooner than later.
Anthem will get a VIP demo that will be available on January 25th and the same demo will be open to everyone on February 1st. Contrary to other demos that are called these days “betas”, the Anthem demo will be representative of what players will experience in the game at launch day.
Anthem releases on February 22nd and the progress you make in both the VIP and the open demo will not transfer to the final game!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. “NVIDIA announces that Bioware’s Anthem will support Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS)” … or 20 series performance is once again lacking, console super sampling will save us!
Why they waste resources to put this into games nobody cares about?
Cause they need a new gimmick for 2019. Don’t you get it? People get hooked on cheap gimmicks. Even people with cash. That’s the way of the economy.
At this point, graphics are no longer important. Things already look so insanely good that the gains are negligible. Devs and publishers should be working on how to improve the content pipeline. For all the talk of graphics, games like this almost always end up be shallow, mindless grind-fests.
Given we still have ~3-4 years for games on current-gen consoles, I’d say the tools are are now or will be soon better than ever for current-gen consoles. We have *yet* to actually see what current-gen consoles can do.
People thought Red Dead Redemption looked amazing and was a tech accomplishment on 360/PS3. Then GTA V happened. People thought Crysis 2 was a tech accomplishment on consoles. Then Metro Last Light happened. Same as with Gears of War 1 vs Gears of War 3/Judgement.
We’re truly see what these consoles can do in 2020.
Honestly i wouldnt say they are unimportant. Especially if you consider that the graphics support both monitor/tv and the graphics cards industries.
That said, i definitely i agree and would add that games should be shipped at least 95% bug free (looking at you Fallout 76 and Pathfinder) and that both AI and game/level design have really started to take a plunge in the past 5 years. No innovation no experimentation if anything we are moving backwards. I mean till today FEAR has one of the best AI’s and games like METRO and STALKER had fantastic level and even game design. Even in the RPG side the best RPG’s i have played in the past years were ELEX, Skyrim (thanks to the mods especially) but i have started and dropped at least another 30. On the strategy side we get more quality over quantity which is quite positive.
the game was made only to try and mule some players from destiny 2 or warframe. if they can succede is ok, if not, no problem.
i think originaly was made for consoles, the AI dosent dodge, cover or move, just stays in plain site to be hit.
and the 1080p resolution is so bad that i think they play it on 720p and rescale when they upload on youtube.
