Bethesda on Fallout 76 FOV slider, ultra-wide monitor, push-to-talk support and more

Bethesda has revealed some new details about Fallout 76. According to the company, the game will support ultra-wide 21:9 monitors via a post launch update and plans to increase the Stash size in the future (at launch the game will support Stash size at 400 weight limit).

Unfortunately, Fallout 76 will not come with any FOV slider. Bethesda stated that it hasn’t supported FOV sliders in its previous games as it is known to break a lot of animations and causes a lot of clipping to occur onscreen. And while players do have the option to zoom out in third person on PC by holding View and moving the mousewheel, they won’t be able to have this feature for the first person viewpoint.

Similarly, and while a lot of PC gamers have requested a push-to-talk button, the game will not support it at launch. Bethesda claimed that its goal with voice chat being on by default is to highlight that the world is alive with real people, other players like you. As such, the team will look into adding the push-to-talk feature in the future.

Last but not least, Bethesda has stated that it has fixed the issues gamers reported regarding social menu and inviting friends/making teams/etc, and that it will address many exploits in a future patch (there is no word yet whether the framerate will be locked on the PC version in order to resolve the “physics speed” issues), as well as the issue of players hearing sudden random gunshot/loud sounds around Appalachia.

    1. That’s why anyone with a brain games mainly on console. Pc gaming is a joke and has been for years now.

  1. Meanwhile I played Fallout 4, Fallout 3, New Vegas & Skyrim at 110 FOV without any clipping or broken animations. It’s called capping the view-model fov, which was barely even necessary in Fallout 4 (and surprise surprise — some simple mods made it completely unnecessary).

    What a load of bull.

  2. “break a lot of animations and causes a lot of clipping to occur onscreen”

What a bland excuse, Bethesda games have broken animations and clipping without fov sliders, so adding it wont cause any harm or bugs

  3. Didn’t stop me from editing the SSE ini file and not having the game break on me since.

    Todd’s sweet lies though.

  4. posts picture of brutaly killed gory corpse with some raapee involved.

Do you see this? This is what they have done to the franchise, there is no fixing that.

  5. A blatant lie of an excuse. But at least it’s better than “it gives a competitive advantage because esports!!!11!”
