Microsoft debunks latest Halo 5 PC rumours

A few days ago, we informed you about the possibility of Halo 5: Guardians coming to the PC. Microsoft has changed the banner of Halo 5 in Amazon, hinting at a possible PC release. However, and once again, Microsoft has debunked these rumours.

As a Microsoft spokesperson told CNET:

“As we’ve shared previously, we do not have plans to launch Halo 5: Guardians on Windows 10 PC.”

Frank O’Connel also commented on this:

“The only version of Halo 5 for PC, is the free to play “Ausar” multiplayer component (supports custom games, controller and mouse/kb and Forge tools – and we have no further plans to expand on that for the foreseeable future). The Halo 5 team is growing and working at full speed ahead on Halo Infinite. I have no idea why the box art logos changed but I will ask a grown-up in the morning.”

This isn’t the first time that Microsoft has debunked the Halo 5 PC rumours. Back in June, the official Xbox website listed Windows 10 for Halo 5, however Frank O’Connel, development director of Halo, claimed that it was a mere error and nothing more, though he did state that Halo 5 could come to the PC at some point.

343 has also stated that it is aware of the demand for a PC version of Halo: The Masterchief Collection, though it has not revealed whether this collection will ever come to the PC. So yeah, while we’ve seen hints for both Halo 5 and Halo: The Masterchief Collection, none of them are currently scheduled for a PC release.

Now since Halo Infinite has been confirmed for Windows 10, it would make perfect sense to release the previous Halo games on the PC. And while this would be really cool, Microsoft will not bring them. At least for now.

    1. “i see only xbox peasants who migrated to PC cry about it”

Why would anyone migrate to a platform with inferior AAA games. Unless you want to play MP or esports.

        1. esports + mp games = superior.

“Wah so full of MP games on the market, where are all the good single player games” – DSOGaming commenters.

are you guys bipolar or wot?

          1. Well, Assassin’s creed is on PC, as is Gears of war 4, 5. DOOM 2016 and eternal. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, For Honor, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Prey, Monster Hunter: World, Sea of Thieves, Far Cry 5, State of Decay 2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Forza Horizon 4,3, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Hitman 1,2, Anthem, Crackdown 3, Metro Exodus, Destiny 2.

There. A bunch of games that either ARE on PC or WILL BE coming to PC. I purposefully left off multiplayer focused games aside from sea of thieves. I also left off any triple A game that’s getting a battle royale mode. And this is only recent games. I’m assuming you misunderstood me. Xbox and PC have the same games on them. Not that all the games are the same thing. I also really don’t care for Halo, but the next one will be on PC.

          2. XBONE has inferior exclusives than ps4. Most GOTY candidates are on PS4. Al of the games you have listed above are on consoles. PC doesn’t have superior games.

  1. Eh… we still have Halo Online from the Eldorito guys and it works
Microsoft can keep their trash CoD black ops 3 abomination that is Halo 5

  2. When will you lot learn? Stop getting your hopes up. You’re getting Halo on PC and it’s called halo infinite. Now sit down and have some patience.

  3. The bottom line is that MS wants all PC gamers to switch to Xbox where they can have complete control. I won’t be expecting MS to do very much for PC gamers.

  4. It’s amazing Microsoft doesn’t actually put effort into doing this. Xbox isn’t what it once was, neither is Halo. Put it on PC. Even if it’s just your Windows 10 exclusive crap. Priiiiiide.

  5. We didn’t get gears of war 2 and 3 either so no reason to get hopes up for previous halo games. Also only those games are coming to pc which were developed after Microsoft launched its UWP. Halo MCC and halo 5 were developed before it. That is also the reason why we won’t be getting sunset overdrive either. That is unless Microsoft dedicated their time to port the games(which let’s be honest they won’t) gotta keep the hopes low people.

  6. I will always hate microsoft,by making the xbox to give competition to sony they took many pc games license and brought them over to consoles and casualised them.
Remember the 90’s and early 00’s? Pc gaming was not just about superior graphics and performance it was about mature and complex games the most recent example is the first crysis compared to its sequel it was not just a graphical benchmark it was also complex and had far more gameplay possibilies than its sequels.

    Microsoft should go screw themselves.

  7. I’m going to buy a new Xbox and a few Halo games and then just run over the unopened boxes with my car. Only way I could get any enjoyment out of owning a console.

  8. why is you virgin station all over the internet?it’s as if you took it from somewhere on the internet then claim it to be yours in here. your attempt is so simple and pathetic that makes me laugh.

    1. That’s all you got?! Someone’s feelings we’re hurt…You’re more than welcome to google my handle to cross reference. I miss my virgin days actually, but you know wife, kids, adult, and disposable money really changes your outlook in life. Good luck!

      1. you know since i became a director in nasa, i don’t play games anymore, it changed me.
        source :me
        good luck buddy
(this is just to show you i’m calm)
btw my grand kids are so beautiful i hope one day you quit imagining things and become real like me.
        best of luck
(again this is to show you that i’m calm and show you my superiority even though i claim to have children but spend thousands of USDs on video games and gaming equipment instead of feeding my “wife and children”.

      2. i used to watch this british dude play this “social” kind of video game where you choose your avatar and just talk to people and pretend to be someone else (something similar to gmod and all of those autistic games). the guy who was playing it was a troll and his name is sgt sizzle on youtube, i don’t remember the game’s name but there was this mature guy who was really pissed and he nearly cried out of madness then to play it cool (probably in front of his internet friends) he said his wife had cancer and she was in hospital and that’s why he’s so mad, of course he was telling the truth because logically when your wife gets cancer and she’s in hospital, the first thing you do is playing a socially interactive video game.
one other thing i constantly see that british teenagers do for attention is saying that their parents recently died. apparently british teens have fetysh for dead parents and imaginary families.
