New World Interactive has released a new trailer for Insurgency: Sandstorm in which we get to see how close to the action you can get, featuring raw PVP gameplay from the Closed Technical Alpha.
Insurgency: Sandstorm is built in Unreal Engine 4 with upgraded graphics, promising to take the series into a new era. The game will feature extended gameplay possibilities, improved immersion, as well as new co-op and versus objective-based game modes, while also retaining the lethal tactical action that made Insurgency the worldwide phenomenon it is today.
In Insurgency: Sandstorm, players will experience kinetic, gritty, and immersive combat on a modern battlefield that strikes a balance between action and simulation gameplay. Both you and your enemies can die in as few as one or two shots; there is no health bar, kill feed, crosshair, or regenerating health. Teams must move with speed and fluidity as they weave through dense urban environments, capturing and destroying vital enemy objectives.
Each weapon has unique ballistic calculations that take into account bullet drop, travel time, and penetration power. Bullets are tracked realistically in each magazine container, and magazines do not automatically merge together. Players can choose to drop magazines for faster reloads in dangerous situations, carefully open doors to keep quiet, or bash them down with a shoulder charge.
Insurgency: Sandstorm releases on Windows PC in September 2018, with Linux and Mac support coming later!

Not BAD!
Pretty good actually!
Yea i’m surprised. Comparing to the vanilla edition it’s a clear step up.
will this be better than bfv or cod bo4?
Completely different. Not the same type of gameplay.
This looks like a pretty massive upgrade to the game-play of Insurgency, I can’t wait for this to come out. Insurgency was one of the best source mods, and the standalone was also insanely good. The gun-play in Sandstorm looks next level.
It isn’t. It is literally Insurgency, but with Day of Infamy mechanics, and Red Orchestra graphics/engine (Unreal), minus the additional movement options and command mechanics and vehicles of Red Orchestra.
The guns all have severe recoil, the scopes are extremely hard to use, and above all it’s just wonky as can be. You had to mash Reload like 8 times sometimes to get it to finally start reloading your gun – not helpful when they amped the move speed already to move fast AF. Hopefully by next month they iron out SOME of those issues, but the reality is that Insurgency has been out for 5 years and only just 2 months ago got an x64 patch that somewhat improved the massive frame inconsistencies in Source.
The technical is hilarious though. It’s going to be baaaaaad when custom servers come out and people mod co op bots to have laser accuracy again. I was literally covering the entire canyon map with a truck MG we stole one time, shooting bots across the map through walls and stuff.
I don’t respect your opinion on anything and you know this too. Not sure why you wasted your time on typing what I already knew about the game.
Wow! It looks pretty nice, despite the quality of the video!
I was in the Closed Alpha, and it was quite impressive for how polished it was for that state, I pre-ordered the game and will be getting it this September. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys good and challenging AI game modes as well as PvP.
Fake gameplay running on Titan V’s. The game is severely unoptimized. No one in alpha could run it except at below 720p, myself included.
More realistically this is sped up about 4x because having played alpha, I can assure you – I have my own videos which NDA forbids us from uploading – that the game does NOT play this fast.
