Turn10 and Playground Games have announced that they will completely remove price crates from Forza Motorsport 7. This decision was made due to the overwhelming feedback regarding them, and the teams claimed that it will be completed in the winter timeframe.
As Alan Hartman said:
“One major area of discussion for the team has been prize crates. While we’ve never charged money for prize crates in Forza Motorsport 7, their presence in the game has continued to be a source of controversy. The overwhelming feedback has been that this system feels out of place in the game. After careful consideration, we have decided to completely remove prize crates from Forza Motorsport 7.”
What’s also cool here is that paid tokens – which were a part of previous Forza games – will not be coming to Forza Motorsport 7 or in the upcoming Forza Horizon 4.
Alan concluded:
“Due to the complexity of removing prize crates from the game – while keeping access to Driver Gear, Mods and Badges – we expect that this process will be completed in the winter timeframe. Starting this month we’ve already taken steps towards that goal, first by unlocking more than 100 previously locked “exclusive” cars and, second, by completely removing cars from the prize crates in the game. The current lineup of prize crates offer no competitive advantage and only offer Driver Gear suits, Mods and badges, and these crates will remain in place until crates are removed entirely.”

Most likely will not happen until Horizon 4 drops 😀
Forza Horizon 6? I think you meant Forza Horizon 3. If so then it is currently on Sale and is it is the absolute complete edition, Look for FH3 Platinum Plus Expansions Bundle in the Microsoft Store. I highly recommend you pick it up, this deal is a steal.
Both Forza games that are on PC are currently on Sale. Forza Motorsport 6 never came to PC just a free cut down version Forza Motorsport 6: Apex was released to showcase DX12 was released. There is also Forza Motorsport 6: Apex Premium Edition which is just the Free Forza Motorsport 6: Apex plus some paid DLC, not necessary to get it now since Forza Motorsport 7 has all of that content plus much much more.
I bought the Forza Motorsport 6 Platinum Edition Bundle (Complete Edition) on June 30, 2017 for $41.25 and I think I saw it on sale at least once more after. Maybe it will go on sale again in Winter. Good Luck.
God dammit really ?! I bought FH3 ultimate edition for 49.99€ during the E3 promotion !
I did plan on buying the expansion pass this month… which is 34.99€ and this FH3 plus platinum is 39.24€ so for 4.25 more I get ALL the DLCs…
Too bad I don’t get a second copy of FH3 to gift to someone…

It’s incredibly pathetic that they even tried this garbage in the first place. Make no mistake, they aren’t doing this for the betterment of the game. They are doing it, for the betterment of the sales.
Sadly, we live in the era where a game can either be good, or profitable, and not both. Here’s hoping the stomach churning greed of this industry takes a back seat sometime in the near future.
How do you figure? The only way to but the crates was in-game credits. No real world money was ever used. I don’t see the issue with them in the first place if real money isn’t being used.
Yeah and they will put it in the next forza.. WP
Filthy Microsoft.
