Agony Unrated has been cancelled once again due to financial, technical and legal reasons

Madmind Studio has announced that the unrated version of Agony, that was supposed to feature all the uncensored scenes, has been cancelled once again. The team claims that it is currently experiencing financial issues and that Agony Unrated was cancelled due to both technical and legal reasons.

As the team stated:

“We regret to inform you that our company is currently struggling with financial problems. Due to technical and legal reasons, Madmind must cancel the development of Agony Unrated. Part of the team will continue to support Agony on Steam and consoles by publishing new patches.”

This is the third time that the uncensored content has been cancelled. Originally, the team planned to include it exclusively on the PC. Then, it decided to release via a PC patch after its release, and then it announced the Unrated version that was supposed to be a standalone product.

Madmind promises to release a new patch for Agony next week that will introduce many fixes and a highly refined lighting system.

      1. I played it from start to finish, really crappy combat, good vistas, crappy music and sound design (it’s just 2 songs which is unforgivable in a game that wants to be atmospheric), nonsensical history (you need to play the game 2 times for you to understand the game language, screw that) and that’s about it

          1. All devs promise a good game by default :D. But i’m just talking about game styles which games like Agony, Scorn and Inner Chain fall into this specific category of atmospheric FPS

  1. Hasn’t the original game been getting horrible reviews and feedback from players? The game might not be selling well at all and that could explain some of the financial problem.

    1. Yeah it has, people really hated it and it wasn’t even a really good game. It’s probably one of the few games that actually defines mediocrity pretty much directly on point.

  2. You can already buy this for £9.99 not even four weeks after release which pretty much says everything.

    1. Must have been part of the Summer Sale. It’s showing
£23.79 / $30 now but I don’t know if that was the release price or if it’s already had it’s regular price discounted.

  3. If you want to play a better erotic themed game, Lust for Darkness is your best bet atm.

  4. 1st they say YES, then they said NO because it’s impossible task to made a PATCH
after that they said AGAIN YES now they are saying again NO.
What a pile of trash PR is this…Other than that game is also pile of trash 😀 😀
They can’t decide what they want, just like womans 😀
