      1. If you think they are so bad, why dont you just make your own game and show us how it done?
Or are you just all talk and no action?

    1. Hopefully Starfield is gonna speed the SC’s production rate upwards a notch. Then again, it might need.

    2. No problem… SC is already cheaper than Starfield as it cost 45$ only while Starfield will be released (when?) at Triple-A usual cost +55$.

45$… No need to spend more.

        1. Thanks for the link and confirming what I said. This package is not intended to individual but done on an Org leader request… and it costs less per member than what pay a WOW player per year… Who is the evil? 🙂

        2. And your point being?
That package is there as a choice, but you dont need to buy it.
As @Joe_Blobers:disqus said before all you need is the $45 package, everything thats in that big pack you can get ingame when its available through regular gameplay.

Having 1 ship or 100 ships does not matter since you can only use a single ship at a time.

      1. You can pass off any negative commenters as trolls but there are negative things to say about this game. Sure you can pay $45 and get Star Citizen one spoonful at a time but most are waiting for the game to be completed to play it.

I have heard that the servers are an issue and causing lag. Why hasn’t that been addressed after all of these years?

        1. Regular reader is not a troll, that’s not what I was saying at all. But you can detect them easily with their scam, vaporware and Jpegs, denying the reality of a +500 team and 3.1.4.
Alpha? who care everybody know Alpha = polished and released 🙂

Anyway the lag have been decreased since 3.0 but is still their with an improve fps, currently of around 30 to 40 with some frame drop. Performance and bugs fixing are of course important but not a priority. They are the last to be included in game development.
Bind Culling is planned for 3.3 (Q3) and will provide a quality jump in term of performance.

Those not able to sustain Alpha or game development should stay away until Beta. As simple as that.

        2. While its certainly possible to pass off all negative comments as trolling, the comment he responded to is a clear trolling attempt.
And if I didnt know better I would think you, by your comment, were trying to defend this kind of negative behaviour.
The scam comment not just old and outdated its been proven false on countless occasions.
Unfortunately there are far too man people who are just coming to these articles to stir up trouble, disrupt any civilized discussion and get a rise out of the backers just for laughs or any number or other reasons.

As for why the lag issues have not been addressed, I thought that would be obvious.
The game is still very much in Alpha which makes any kind of issues are difficult at best if not impossible to fix at the current point in time because things are still constantly changing.
They could fix the problem now, only to have it crop up again in the next update.

People keep thinking that it should be easy to fix and wonder why they have not done it, people like that dont realize or understand just how difficult those things can be to fix.

There are thousands of lines of code that has to work together where something as seemingly innocuous as a comma error or typo somewhere could cause cause all sorts of problems.
And while they are very easy to fix and can be done in seconds once they are found, they can be notoriously difficult to track down.
Others again can be very easy to find, but be just as notoriously difficult to fix without breaking a thousand other things in the process.

When it comes to lag specifically, its not as easy to just fix the problem as people seem to think.
As I said above the problem can be easy enough to find, but be notoriously difficult to fix without either breaking a number of other things or making matters worse.
Also a lot of players have a nasty tendency to blame such problems on the developers, the game and/or servers and utterly refusing to accept the very real possibility that the problem could be on their end to the point where they will not even try to investigate on their end and just lie and claim they have done so without success.

I was like you when the development of this game started, blaming the developers and thinking that “Why has this not been fixed yet?” and “It cant be that hard to fix?”
Following the development of this game I have since learned a great deal about how game development works.
How much work they actually have to put into this and just how difficult it is and how long it can take to get to work.
Just how much can go wrong, how fast and how easily it can happen as well as just how notoriously difficult it can be to track down and fix those issues.

  1. Beside the usual nay-sayers and troll, 3.1.4 is currently playable and 3.2 is coming end of June.
You can check Star Citizen roadmap on CIG web site. 4 Quarters of massive patch that will bring SC closer to beta.

Because of its Alpha status, this is of course not intended to be played as a finished.. obvious but troll like to shoot non sense right 🙂
3.2 will add mining among others things and 3.3 salvaging…. and a Planet-Size city which is one third of a real planet… in 4 K!

  2. PC Gamer put a VERY misleading title on this video. Check the actual Star Citizen YouTube channel for the real title, it’s simply a persistent universe trailer.
