Bandai Namco and CD PROJEKT RED announced today that Geralt of Rivia will be joining the playable character roster of the long-waited weapon-based 3D fighting game SOULCALIBUR VI. Players who choose to fight as Geralt will utilise The Witcher’s signature fighting style with a combination of swordplay, ability-enhancing potions, and combat magic.
Doug Cockle, the English voice of Geralt of Rivia, returns in SOULCALIBUR VI to reprise the role. Gamers will also be able to fight in Kaer Morhen, home keep of the School of the Wolf. Accompanying players in battle will be “Hunt or be Hunted”, an iconic composition from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt soundtrack.
Marcin Momot, Community Lead at CD PROJEKT RED, said:
“SOULCALIBUR is well known in the fighting games genre for including iconic guest characters. When we were approached with the idea of doing a crossover, we thought our community would really enjoy playing as the witcher. We’ve collaborated with BANDAI NAMCO artists to faithfully recreate Geralt, and shared original Witcher 3 assets like Geralt’s model, animations, and weapons. I think BANDAI NAMCO did an outstanding job of capturing all the details and introducing The Witcher to SOULCALIBUR in a way fans of both series will enjoy.”
What I find really interesting here is that Geralt looks – visually – worse than The Witcher 3. Moreover, the lighting system of SoulCalibur VI also appears to be inferior to the one used in The Witcher 3. SoulCalibur 6 is powered by Unreal Engine 4 so we were expecting way better visuals than those showcased, so here is hoping that the final version will look better.
SOULCALIBUR producer, Motohiro Okubo, added:
“All SOULCALIBUR characters have strong convictions and complex backgrounds and this is why it is a great honor for the whole SOULCALIBUR team to welcome Geralt as the guest character in SOULCALIBUR VI. Thanks to the great cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED, we’ve been able to fully integrate Geralt’s fighting style and appearance. We can’t wait for SOULCALIBUR fans around the world to welcome Geralt to the stage of History.”

Seems like gerald got facial treatment in Japanese beauty salon…
The skin seems a little bit smoother, but that’s about it.
“SOULCALIBUR is well known in the fighting games genre for including
iconicidiotic guest characters”Fixed.
Hey this fits the game much better than Yoda.
No argument there! Ditto the two other Star Wars characters in SC IV and Link in the GameCube version of SC II.
Thank you for another dimwitted reply, my obsessive personal stalker, SJW apologist and troll.
I don’t see a problem with it. I think its fun.
I didn’t claim that it couldn’t be “fun”. It’s only one guest character after all so it’s not a deal-breaker… unless there’s a Gwent mini-game instead of the usual button mashing, haha!
Isn’t Soul Calibur built on guest characters? I’ve never played one because they’ve never been on PC
They make this coward playble who starts screaming evry time he sees a monster and then running as fast as he can away from it but they dont put me the leader of foot ninjas?! GRRR
QQ Cry moar you punching bag of pizza eating mutants.
you know iam much better than Gerald !
what lovely mouth and lips
gerald will make a welcome addition to soul calibur which is the best fighting game(3d) series
did SC ever had multiple guest characters?
good to know, from what i can predict it’s either gonna be 2B
or a dark souls character (solaire perhaps? there is a remaster in the works)
eitherway Tekken 7 got so many guest characters i lost count
hopefully this will be the same with SC6
