      1. From what I’ve seen/read it is supposed to better than the first game. I did enjoy the first one, which starts off cool, but the 2nd half of the game felt more like classic Resident Evil and more of a chore than enjoyable.

          1. I’ve played every RE under the sun and still own the few RE games for Dreamcast. Just because I liked the gameplay of the first half of EW and didn’t care for the direction it turned in the second means I shouldn’t play SH games?? Please.

  1. Has it been patched enough to keep a stable framerate? I refunded the game at launch which is a shame because I love horror games.

      1. I have an i7 4770k GTX 1080ti 16gb ram and 2tb SSD. The game is poorly optimized.

Go look at Digital Foundry PC analysis and steam performance reviews. I couldn’t keep a steady framerate even at 1080p. The first game had the same problems.

Stop forgiving devs who do poor optimization. You’re part of the problem.

        1. @Ugh is a professional shill, that is he defends the incompetence of big companies. You are not the first to get one of his stupid replies. To keep with the spirit of his idiocy, it’s your fault you don’t have a mining rig with at least 10 GTX 1080 in order to enjoy this game…

      2. Um fine is an overstatement, more like “barely passable”.

        I was having major slowdowns on my Rx 470 + i5 7400 + 16GB DDR4 2133hz Ram.

        Still playable just not ideal.

  2. i uninstalled this game twice, first one had far better gunplay and details on enemies also depending on where you shoot them you could just take chunks of flesh out of their face or bodies, this one feels and plays very basic and simple kind of like resident evil 5, when you shoot them you’ll see a very simplistic exaggerated blood effect and that’s it.

    1. The problem with this game is the open world, you can find as much ammo and upgrades as you want and since its open world you know that the jump scares will be in the main quests and the sidequests which are linear areas.

Those things make the game less scary and easier

      1. for me the first thing that puts me off is lack of what made the first one great (at least for me) which is attention to small details as i mentioned

      2. Not to mention you play the game out of order and have no idea what’s going on. I played for a couple of hours, got the agony bolt launcher way later than I should have, faced that one creepy woman in that house, and then kind of just stopped playing after finding the dude in the safe house.

  3. So you are saying that pc gaming was right all along and first person is better for horror games? Yet another case that consoles copy pc because pc did it right the first time around many years ago.

    1. Not really. Alone in the Dark was third person. And was on PC. The game that started the misnomer “survival horror” when in reality most of these games are just adventure games with horror elements. First person horror is a recent concept starting with games like Amnesia, although technically System Shock 1 and 2 were horror games.

      1. Yeah i remember that game i liked it, but lets be honest it wasnt first person it had a first person view and because the third person controller were attrocious so everyone on pc played it in first person.

It seems you didnt get what i meant, what i meant is that horror games on pc were done on first person while on consoles in third person and at the end pc was proven right, after all most of the trends consoles use the last decade or so can be traced back to pc.

  4. They didn’t put the keeper in Evil Within 2 did they? That wouldn’t make sense. Cuz…you killed him. If you die in the thing you die irl. I forget the name of the thing lol. You know, the thing, the animus, what’s it called? I forget everything about Moebius. Stem?
