The latest issue of GameInformer has revealed some really interesting new technical details about Metro Exodus. According to the magazine, this new Metro game will support physically-based rendering and will come with an overhauled lighting system.
In addition, Metro Exodus will feature full facial capture for cinematics, a dynamic weather system, full day/night cycles, atmospheric systems and sim AI biomes.
As such, and given what we’ve seen so far, Metr Exodus will be a graphical powerhouse that will please a lot of PC gamers. This obviously does not surprise or shock us as all previous Metro games pushed the graphical boundaries.
Metro Exodus promises to be an epic, story-driven first person shooter that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created. Players will explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter.
Stay tuned for more!

I’m going to thank the team’s middleware 4A ENGINE for the graphical beauty/prowess that this entire METRO series offers…
No surprise here. Can’t wait to get my hands on this FPS title.
.
Been playing 2033 Redux and it still holds up years later. Some textures are dated, but the rest holds up really nicely, and I love how the game basically lets me choose to take things stealthily or guns blazing.
I’ve always loved the graphics of the new redux version titles. even the old one still looks pretty from a visual perspective.
I seem to remember it having been said that while the Redux release/s were an overall visual improvement they were nevertheless downgraded in some aspects… presumably for the sake of the current-gen consoles.
Totally, my body is ready for Exodus it is going to be epic!
Day 1 for me.
Not enough games have dynamic weather, especially to the extent of affecting gameplay. Got high hopes for this one.
ABSOLUTELY LOVED the first two games and from the looks of it i’ll most likely LOVE the new one! Good story/graphics and fun gameplay always make me smile 🙂
Please don’t be short, previous titles had satisfying gameplay but the campaigns were only 8-10 hours long.
10 hours is just right for an FPS IMO, even more so if it’s replayable.
Nah. I don’t agree with you on that.
My 9 hours of gameplay in Max Payne 2 was far better than my 30 hours of gameplay in Far Cry 3.
Far Cry 3 isn’t a great game lol? Um have you seen the reviews of the game lol? Or Do you intentionally live in ur self contained bubble as usual.
The point you’re laying down is that “longer games = better experience”. Which is something I disagree with. Simple as that. If anyone who’s a kid here its you. Mr. “I don’t like it so I have to throw out my opinion and say I don’t give a sh*t about it”.
I hear it would have some open world elements. So I think it’d probably be around 20 hours long.
Metro is like STALKER for kid .
Ironic that the only studio fit to produce a S.T.A.L.K.E.R sequel is 4A games.
“With Metro, players ask us; give us more freedom, give us more freedom.. . Take it.” -Dev.
Fckn Glorious.
Will my gtx 750 ti video card be able to handle this game, be sufficient ? can’t afford to upgrade my GPU right now due to high prices in my location, and it’s hard to get one as well.
Can’t say for sure, because that GPU is just an “entry-level” card, not actually meant for hardcore gaming.
Mostly for casual, Esports, and MOBA type of games, imo. But, you didn’t mention on what screen RES you are about to play this game though ?
But I presume it’s 720/1080p, instead of 2K ? The GTX 750 Ti isn’t meant for high-end graphically intense/demanding AAA titles, but that doesn’t mean we CAN’T play such kind of games on this GPU.
You just need to lower down some of the Video/Graphics settings, to avoid lag/stutter or poor FPS.
The GTX 750 Ti is just having 640 CUDA cores, 40 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs, that too tied on a 128-bit wide memory bus interface, which is kind of weak overall in terms of horsepower.
Nonetheless, if the above game supports this GPU, you should be fine. I doubt even my RX 480 would be able to MAX out this game, when it is released. But, this game isn’t coming out soon.
Most probably in Q4 of this year, so by that time you can easily upgrade your GPU as well.
Game on !
.
Its a Metro game so 100 percent chance your Rx 480 won’t.
But then again I never understood why benchmarks keep pushing this “maxed out” ideology. Like its so stupid. Most PC gamers don’t own a 1080ti or whatever AMD card.
Most are gamers on a budget. I’d rather see performance on “Medium – High” settings than the standard “Ultra settings”.
Agree on that.
But I think the reviewers just want to show the true potential of any new game engine by maxing out the title IMO, in this case it’s going to be Metro: Exodus, when it comes out.
Yeah, not everyone can obviously afford the 1080 Ti, or an RX VEGA GPU for that matter, but I think most of the gaming reviews have also included medium/high benchmark results as well.
I’ve seen low/Medium/high game settings being tested as well, on most of the GPUs, including high-end.
Btw, “Maxing out” doesn’t necessarily mean just using ALL the highest graphical settings on any GPU that the game offers, but it’s more like using the maximum possible options based on one’s PC/hardware.
In my case, it’s on the RX 480 GPU and an Intel i7 4790 CPU, but on 1080p.
I think devs optimize the game for high settings though not ultra. I think on ultra they just add barely noticable effects and say “Lets not bother optimize this setting so it would be demanding”.
yup it’s 1080p…thanks for the explanation. guess I can then wait till this game comes out, and hopefully get a new powerful card to play with, lol.
video card market is still very dull these days. till then the 750 Ti plays most of the old games fine, with some exceptions.
you can play pretty much everything
Sounds sweet!
Love this series!
I’ve always loved the graphics of the new redux version titles. even the old one still looks pretty from a visual perspective.
DAY ONE BUY!
Can’t wait for this game. I finished the 2nd game, but never the 1st. Time to go back before this launches.
I need to also finish the STALKER series. I completed 1 and 3, 2 only about 50% completion.
By 3 you mean “Call of Pripyat” ? I could never ever finish this game, played the first two titles though.
Call of Pripyat’s zone was too big for me, and I got bored with the missions. I prefer a more linear approach to the gameplay, but I think COP wasn’t like the previous STALKER games ?
More like a blend of RPG and open world, imo, though I could be wrong.
Yes, CoP. I did like SoC and CS better than CoP, but for some reason I never finished CS. I think each game felt a little different than the last. I am sucker for large worlds and exploration. I need to find every last goodie. Once of the reasons I never finished the Elder Scrolls games. Now FO3, Vegas, and 4 I have finished.
Slight Off topic question:
Has anyone played this MOD, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Lost Alpha, by dez0wave ?
Yeah I know, this mod was plagued with bugs when it was released way back in 2014, but I think the latest release is really worth giving a try (1.4005 version).
One of the best mods made for the original Stalker game, IMHO. I love the graphics and the weather overall done to the SoC engine, and other gameplay elements.
..
Yes, and it’s really good. It includes some brand new areas (such as the haunting Dead City), some redesigned/reimiganined of the original soc and you can drive vehicles. In some aspects I’d say it surpasses gsc’s games.
ya, I’ve played it on my friend’s system. really nice atmosphere, and improved game mechanics as well. A good mod, and I think they are still working further on this project.
All the more reason I will buy it without hesitation, Give me games that push my system instead of bad console ports or outdated game engines.
You had me at non-linear levels, Metro you minx you. Ive pee’d a little.
