It’s been a while since our last look at the fan-made remake of TimeSplitters 1, 2 & 3, TimeSplitters Rewind, right? In fact, back in July, the team claimed that it was experiencing development issues due to CRYENGINE. However, TimeSplitter Rewind is still alive and Cinder Interactive Arts has released some new screenshots from it.
These new screenshots showcase the TimeSplitters 2 Siberia level. Now since these screenshots are directly taken from the CRYENGINE editor, we’re pretty sure that this level will look better once it’s complete.
In case you weren’t aware of, Timesplitters Rewind is a standalone multiplayer game that is being developed by fans of the original Timesplitters series. The game will feature characters, maps, and weapons from all three games completely rebuilt.
As said, back in July Cinder Interactive Arts stated that the game’s development has gone stagnant. The team had been waiting for a new release from Crytek that changes a lot of the core systems of the engine and includes new documentation. From the looks of it, Crytek has finally released this new version of CRYENGINE and Cinder Interactive Arts has resumed development.
There is still no ETA on when this fan-made remake of TimeSplitters will hit the Internet, however we’ll be sure to keep you posted. Until then, enjoy the following screenshots!

John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

meh. vaporware at this point. who even cares? timesplitters mp was cool and all, but its the story and single player that mattered.
I care. I for one have been waiting years to play this and have been following the project closely. It looks better every time I see it and I show all of my buddies who grew up playing TS and they also can’t wait to play.
It’s going to take some time, it isn’t “vaporware”. The project is headed by volunteers who make the game in their free time. Any money they put into the game is their own and the only way they are allowed to use the TS assets is thanks to the express permission the received from Crytek on the grounds that they do not pursue profits from the project.
TS: Rewind is a 100% fan driven passion project that Crytek is aware of and involved with in some capacity. Now, the following is simply my conjecture but it would be cool if the folks at Crytek are using this project as a type of interview and the the team behind it have the potential to land a dream job working for Crytek working on an official sequel to the franchise. Crytek does own all rights to Time Splitters afterall, so it isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
”
TimeSplitters Rewind is still alive,”
Devs say this … 4 years ago. lol

Jesus if that’s what the current state of their game looks like, I don’t know how an engine update could fix that.
“The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.'” 😉
IMHO, the only way government could do this right (ish) would be if an organization more powerful than EA harangued the gov’t into doing it, like the actual gambling industry. If it is just some low-tier politicians trying to find a populist wave to ride-which it is-then you know they’re gonna screw it up.
