Things are seriously not looking good for Star Wars: Battlefront 2. Yesterday, EA announced that it has reduced the amount of credits required to unlock Heroes by 75%. Still, the company had also reduced the amount of credits players win by completing its story mode. Not only that, but the game features a ridiculous mobile cooldown in its Arcade mode that prevents/slowdowns players from earning credits.
This has been confirmed by multiple sources. As such, the game has a cooldown ‘feature‘ similar to what we can find in mobile F2P games. After a number of Arcade matches, the game does not reward players with credits. Insteady, they’ll have to wait for a few hours until credits become available once again.
As you may have guessed, this ‘feature‘ may force some gamers into buying with real money more credits. In short, this is another ridiculous microtransaction mechanic that plagues this latest Star Wars game.
Now while this cooldown is unacceptable, we do have to warn you about some false information that arose earlier today. Some users reported that EA removed the refund button from its customer portal due to the Battlefront 2 controversy. However, this button was removed from the customer portal a few months ago and not yesterday. So no, that removal was not due to the Battlefront 2 outcry.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 releases in a few days. EA has not sent us yet a PC review code. As always, we’ll purchase the game if the publisher refuses to send us one, and our PC Performance Analysis will hopefully go live this weekend!

You forgot that grinding through Multiplayer, not Arcade, can still make you earn credits. Incomplete data.
Yeah, for some reason, EA didn’t want AI farming to be possible.
Such a shame you have to give EA money for this rubbish just to test it’s performance. I hope you don’t get AAA game cancer by reviewing it, also watch when you bend down, someone from EA might be behind with a big smile on their face. LOL
What do we call people who pay for microtranactions? I was think of “mentally disabled” but that would be insulting to compare disabled people to these even more retarded people.
Just saying, these 1% are part of the problem that EA still exists.
How do you manage to fu** up a game launch this bad? You have to *actively* try to do something this poorly.
I’d say they want to swallow DICE like they do all their devs, but they already have, so I’m baffled as to why they would risk DICE’s name and the good will of Disney (Star Wars owners) in this way. Why not use some less popular game to push this envelop? Why the big franchise, possibly their biggest license deal?
But they’ll get away with it. No reason to assume they won’t. Battlefront 1 was already a terrible offering, yet here we are getting a sequel and people buy that, too. A Star Wars game with a decent budget will never fail.
WOW. wtf.
Seriously WTF? This is insane 🙁
Funny how what seems to be left out is the FACT that the cooldown is for people who think they are going to sit and spam the easiest arcade challenges…There literally is NO cooldown when you actually progress from one arcade challenge to the next…
It is called grinding.
Seriously John don’t buy this game.
I agree,be the first gaming site that have a headline that says
“This site will not review Star Wars: Battlefront 2 due to integrity.”
Take a stance against pay to win games.
nobody buy this game no matter how much they love star wars…use that money for battlefront 2 on gog its a better game
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA EA! A JOKE!
At this point, when I hear “AAA game”, it’s not a feature; it’s a liability.
This makes no sense. Greed will destroys them.
Greed will actually make them rich.
This reminds me… https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/064ff5e436ca74e37a79cdd879cf3a53e9f7c4b9e01b73fc639ae9250ad777cb.jpg
That people never learns
It’s arrogant to expect that other people do what you want them to. No one cares, they just want to zone out and play a game.
Good old times.
That pic gave me cancer.
RIP my hope for humanity.

So this is what has become of tripple A games a piece of garbage mobile games, seems legit
Thanks Terrence but our job is to report on games, whether we receive a code or not. It will be a shady practice to test only the games publishers send us. It’s not about the traffic but rather about featuring as many Performance Analysis articles as possible.
I think media needs to show the stance that they won’t support dirty EA practices. After all, it’s media who are in large shaping the opinion of the consumer. I know right, I’ve written those articles myself as a gaming journalist. Now I am on the other side of the barricade, but still I won’t support EA in those endeavours. I think gaming business is rotten to the core at the moment and we need another gaming business crash for them to tone the things down again in terms of management team sizes and the like.

I think the only real problem is being placed in a multiplayer scenario with players that have better “guns” than me.
Even if they earned those guns though hours of skillful playing and no pay2win was possible.
In my book, that is the very definition of “unfairness”.
In a game, all players should always have the same gear, and their skill should decide who wins. There is nothing fair or fun about giving a better gun to a player just because he played the game for 50 hours or paid $50 for it.
Seeing how most multiplayer games work these days makes me realize I’m pretty much alone in thinking so. And this is why I have not really enjoyed multiplayer since Wolfenstein: Enemy territory…
Yeah Mino, all of those air strikes, perks and all were the beginning of the end of online games. But as long as players will play their game and buy things they do, they will continue to make them.
Hype is real. So is marketing.
That’s one good thing about overwatch the other mccree has the same pistol as you.

Just don’t bother reviewing the game. The actions that are listed in this article are more than enough to deduct huge amounts off the review score. And then deduct even more points for EA’s overzealous attempt in trying to lead gaming into a lootbox-filled, gambling-ridden live service.
Wow that totally changes everything and makes it so much better…
The future of gaming right there! Lap it up cucks -the new generation of gamer that CBA unless the game plays itself and allows you to actually pay to waste your own time.
We will be paying to play games online soon just like console gamers have been suckered into doing …bu bu but ..the service!… GFWL v2 (people will pay for it this time, youll see).

Dont know if that was an attempt at humor or you are just a sheep.
Battlefront 2 2005 had everything unlocked from the get go every heroes and every class.
And of course no cancerous lootbox.
Keep being a drone people like you are the one that ruins gaming for all of us
I’m probably the only potential customer that really doesn’t give two licks about multiplayer anyway. So long as Arcade mode is as at least half as good as the original BF2 skirmish mode, I could care less about the whole loot crate and credits bull because EA wouldn’t be getting anything more out of past my initial purchase anyway.
“I then decided to reward EA by purchasing $250 worth of crystals”

Yeah, the only thing manbabies can do is not support them with their money I guess.
