Mossmouth Games has officially announced that it is working on Spelunky 2. In order to celebrate this announcement, Mossmouth released the game’s announcement trailer, and you can watch it below.
According to its description, in Spelunky 2, the story deepens as more randomly-generated adventures beckon. And from the looks of it, players will take the role of the child of the protagonist of Spelunky 1. Other than that, we don’t know anything else about the game.
Spelunky 2 will simultaneously release on Steam and PS4.
Enjoy!

I would just be happy to make a halfway decent 2D game in gamemaker, let alone something like Spelunky. The jumping is what always gets me in GM.
I really like the gameplay but the visual style puts me off. It feels way overdone.
Spelunky 2 is an abomination, a mistake of nature…
It’s simple : the world would be better if it didn’t exist.
I blame this game for global warming and terrorism.
I wish there were stats about the numbers of suicides and murders which were caused by the excruciatingly painful gameplay of this diabolical creation.
I’ve heard the developer is Satan himself, which doesn’t surprise me.
Funny thing is, it finally made me appreciate Spelunky 1, which feels now like a walk in the park compared to this nightmare.
