Modder ‘hecumarine’ has released a new version of his Overhaul mod for Assassin’s Creed 2. In case you weren’t aware of, this project is a total texture replacement pack which aims to make the game look as beautiful and realistic as possible while keeping the original feel of the game.
In this latest version, the modder examined all the textures again and corrected all the flaws he could find (and were pointed out by his fans), remaking the textures from the previously released version again.
Hecumarine has shared the following comparison screenshots between the vanilla and the modded versions of Assassin’s Creed 2.
Hecumarine has also revealed his future plans. The modder will focus on draw distance and will try to improve distant textures in the next version of the Assassin’s Creed 2 Overhaul mod (version 3.0). In version 4.0, he will focus on remaking the interiors (like crypts, caves etc) as well as the foliage and various environmental details.
Last but not least, in version 5.0, the modder will correct the mistakes and things he thinks should look better, and he will also may add small details like improving water or other particles even further.

more like autisim. asscreed 2 is terribly dated at this point and will always look like garbage. the gameplay is terrible and the story is where the story killed the series already with aliens and other stuff. also all he did was slighly change a few textures, brighten the rooftops and make the knight armor and other textures im sure look worse.
Wtf?? He made a mod because he wanted to improve the game. You can’t really dramatically change the textures when you want to keep the original style.

Never said it was a good passion. The mod author could be skinning cats and molding dragon di_l_dos, but its still a passion.

That is often the way with these things I usually prefer the originals.
The armor in particular looks worse in the overhaul IMO, the rest look pretty much the same except for the roof tiles.
TBH, even the base game hasn’t aged too badly. I mean, you can tell it’s an older title, but it’s still aesthetically cohesive enough to stand up.
Very nice indeed. I may reinstall the game so to give the mod a go given that AC2 was pretty much the only game in the franchise I could stomach spending much time playing.

though things have changed, like the ability to refund their crappy games and such…
Not that the refund machine has stopped them from launching sh*tty games, however.
yeah but WITH the refund system you can get your money back on any horrible origin title
after playing 17 hours of dragon age SJWition i refunded that pile of garbage and recieved full refund
on steam this wouldn’t happen with the 2 hour limit
basiclly any other game, 24 hour window gives you a huge time margin to sample the game and return it (cause they’re all terrible)
and yes EA doesn’t give a crap about refunds, mostly because people are too ignorant of their existence (they have removed the mention in the shop page, so that people think there is no refunds, but there is, for all games infact)
this is why they’re so rampant on microtransactions and “investing in your game” same tactics as rainbow six siege
turn your game into a “service” which you are required to pay or grind to have fun
because even if you did refund the game after you thought it was $hit, people can’t refund microtransaction purchases, which is exactly the lure EA needs to scam people out of their hard earned cash (and promises of “free” DLC)

But yeah, the 2 hour limit on Steam is a little lopsided, as you can play through any short Indie game & then just refund it “because”, whereas you can waste precious minutes of your 2-hour playthrough limit just d*cking around with a broken AAA game on the other hand, leaving you with half of an experience to go on, at best.

as for indies, yeah it’s definitely happening… though truth be told any game that is 2 hour long isn’t worth your money
i still believe that AAA games should have at least 24 hour limit on refunds like origin, 2 hours is clearly not enough (as with the surge the presentation was nice though level design was a crime to humanity, i thought it would get better later on and boy i was wrong)
honestly even to this day some “platforms” like battenet and Ubi$hit still don’t offer refunds, laughable services which are bound to die sooner or later

The days of being able to buy a polished and complete AAA game are gone. Now it’s just copy indies, only claiming to be AAA and slapping more gambling aspects onto their games in order to suck as much cash as possible.
AAA games are basically dead, well the traditional AAA at least.Anyone who thinks AAA>indie titles these days are those who like the idea of having their wallets gimped and taken for suckers.
Yep, even Nintendo has now fallen. Zelda BotW and Mario Kart 8 both had season passes and I’m guessing the next Super Mario game will follow suit. Oh, and then there’s their paid DLC sold as plastic figurines aka Amiibo.
