Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 – PC will be the best place to play, will be the highest standard

How things have changed. While last year Konami treated PC soccer fans like third-class citizens, this year the Japanese team aims to – once again – prove that the PC is the best platform for its soccer series, Pro Evolution Soccer.

In a E3 2017 Twitch stream, a Konami representative said that the Steam version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 will be the highest standard (or in other words the definitive version).

Konami’s representative acknowledged that the previous PC versions of Pro Evolution Soccer were based on the old-gen console versions, however Konami’s representative claimed that this time PC will be the best place to play its soccer game.

Konami is currently working with NVIDIA in order to optimize its title for the GeForce graphics cards.

      1. I don’t think this will ever gonna happen Konami almost left gaming market for pachinko. But who knows maybe one day…

        1. Pachinko wen’t belly up and they had some serious losses there. Now they’re “committed” to their gaming legacy again.

    1. Wasn’t Metal Gear Solid HD Collection the Metal Gear Solid series compilation that didn’t include, erm, Metal Gear Solid?

      1. Yes. But MGS: The Legacy Collection has all MGS series except Twin Snakes(which was a LOT worst than MGS 1 for PS).

  1. “Konami is currently working with NVIDIA in order to optimize its title for the GeForce graphics cards.”

    joke?

          1. I have worked with them. They do what they can, but a poorly optimized engine is poorly optimized, and nvidia can’t do much about that.

    1. I don’t see what is the problem with Nvidia working with game developers. There are lots of great examples of good cooperation leading to great games – think Batman: Arkham City for example. Just because some games were poorly optimized (e.g. Arkham Knight) does not mean it is NVIDIA’s fault. It is not their job to rewrite the game engine for game developers.

Remember the 2013 Tomb Raider? Ran terribly on Nvidia cards on Day 1 – it was an AMD sponsored game and a patch was needed to make TressFx and co. usable on NVIDIA cards.

Other AMD sponsored titles were flops and sold miserably. Thief with its Mantle and TrueAudio exclusivity – a game forgotten by all today. Ashes of the Singularity which nobody plays and is just an AMD benchmark. Deus Ex Mankind Divided sold so poorly the developper announced putting the franchise on pause. Hitman sold so badly that Square Enix wants to sell it off.

  2. Konami should f@$k off, crawling back like a little b#it@ch to beg us after rudely giving us the finger.

  3. Now do a proper functional ONLINE experience and not the crappy one that is literally unplayable and I’ll come back to it. After 2015 I said “enough”.

  4. This game is not about graphics. It is about online.

And as PC gamer mostly I think it will be the worst version with cheaters and small player base.
