As promised, Cloud Imperium has showcased the FPS module of Star Citizen, and below you can find a video showing 10 minutes of gameplay footage. Star Citizen’s FPS Module will be released in early 2015 and if this gameplay video is anything to go by, we can safely assume that it will look just as good as most triple-A FPS titles. Enjoy!

Looks great so far for a pre-alpha and the possibilities in this game are vast. I wish people would stop criticising this game so much, it’s raw pre-alpha for goodness sake, not like Ubisoft’s polished, perfect footage of so called alpha footage.
This is raw pre-alpha state, they don’t care about showing bugs and glitches ,they want to show you what they have done properly, no lies or marketing crap and fake footage.
Which do you think is better CryEngine or Unreal? liking the cryengine needs some power to get the best out of it but end of the day if we wanted just ok visuals we’d buy a console 😀
for now cryEngine cause we didnt see any game for UE4
Good points Sean
Those reflections where cube maps. I dont doubt the finished game will have realtime reflections though.
its supposed to be slow, its not like BF or COD where you run around like a nutter get shot then respawn its more tactical. Exactly how youd approach the situation in real life. Also its pre-alpha
Despite primarily being a Space Sim , Star Citizen’s FPS is doing what other FPS games haven’t done before. The FPS looks really good despite being in early stages . They’ll improve it further until it becomes ready to be released , then it’ll be improved further after that as well . CIG also released Arena Commander update 0.9.2 today and it comes with controls improvements as well as further improvements to the graphics . Everything is finally coming together . This game is going to be epic !
“Star Citizen’s FPS is doing what other FPS games haven’t done before.” What is that?
For example?
Thanks for info.
Shattered Horizon is a zero G FPS
Watch full presentation .
you can remove the helmet, but no oxygen , no HUD.
1 life.. and you die for good… so slow is a must 😛
i hope they improve animation in the finale build
Motion Capturing will begin early next year for the final build . These animations are temporary used for current build of the game .
I think they chose a realistic pace. And who knows, if you get bionic legs you may be able to run faster! Although, an EMP would cripple you entirely.
Looks great so far. My only complaint is that it’s too dark. Maybe the Mobiglass will augment your vision if you have a certain helmet?
Damn , Squadron 42’s Chapter One alone is 15-20 hours long .
It’s a crying shame Triple A Dev’s don’t hit the level of detail in their games for PC the way Star Citizen does. Sure when Crysis 1 came out it was amazing then Crytek fell into the Console trap making 2 and 3 not as great as they could of been. And Star Citizen is going to be setting a new bar. A bar that only people who play on PC as well can understand. Can’t compare the visuals to Witcher 3 since Witcher 3 is a open world game.
Not to mention Star Citizen uses both Nvidia and AMD tech with no bias towards another. It’s to bad console only peeps are missing out but at the same time… Console only peeps are not holding this game back ether 🙂
god i hate slow moving iron sights zoomed in combat
They are going for realism / immersion rather than CoD style gameplay.
i see nothing real about the way the view zooms in for ironsights
The motion capture animations haven’t been added yet.
For those who missed it here is the footage before the FPS demo.

It’s too bad Sony doesn’t have the money to put this on the PS4. It needs it.
This would never run on a PS4.
I agree with your first point, the CPU’s too weak to run this. No Man’s Sky is like the poor man’s version of this though. Not exactly a substitute.
I don’t see what is so dramatically advanced about Star Citizen – I think both Xbox One and PS4 could run it in a cut down version (lower res textures, for instance).
I don’t know. I mean, I doubt the developer really cares at this point since they have $60 million out of the gate.
LOL Even with lower res textures those cra p boxes couldn’t run it.
when all the pieces finally fit together this will be the greatest game ever made
Looks great 🙂 I’m waiting for the 980Ti just for this game.
