Bethesda has announced that The Evil Within has gone gold and has revealed the recommended PC requirements for it. Unless I’m missing something, there is something fishy here. I mean, this game requires an I7 with GPUs of 4GB VRAM. What in the bloody F? Unless all the screenshots that have been released this past months are not indicative at all of the PC version, then I cannot understand why this game requires GPUs with 4GB of VRAM.
It will be interesting to see whether this game justifies its requirements, or whether Bethesda and Tango Gameworks decided to simply release an unoptimized title. Though it’s to be expected that more and more games will require GPUs with more than 3GB of VRAM, they have to justify those requirements. After all, both Crysis 3 and Battlefield 4 featured incredible textures and were running amazingly well on GPUs with 2GB of VRAM. Guess id Tech 5 is to be blamed for this.
