We all know that the Avalanche Engine is currently supporting DirectX 12. However, and as of today, Just Cause 3 is only running in DirectX 11. Well, not for long as Microsoft hinted at a DX12 patch coming for Just Cause 3. Microsoft has released a new video to showcase the power of its new API, in which it included Just Cause 3.
According to Microsoft, the following games take advantage of DirectX 12:
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
- Quantum Break
- Forza Motorsport 6 Apex
- Ashes of the Singularity
- Gears of War Ultimate Edition
- Fable Legends
- Just Cause 3
Interestingly enough, Rise of the Tomb Raider was not included in that list.
Back in January, we informed you about the Avalanche Engine supporting DX12. As we said back then.
“Intel and Avalanche have been working closely to make use of DX12’s features in Just Cause 3, so they can improve the performance even further as well as bring additional visual quality to the game.”
And if this video is anything to go by, then we can safely assume that a DX12 patch will be released for Just Cause 3 sooner than later.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

So Dx12 is more color and bloom ..hmm lights? :)) And why Deus Ex Mankind Divided in Dx12 has the yellow filter again from the Human Revolution? :))
It’s their art style, you know… It doesn’t have anything to do with graphical advancement.
Yeah, apparently DX12 has something to do with colour filters & lighting systems…….
Or something.
lol they showed just cause 3 let’s hope its true and not again a Microsoft mistake!
yet to see that +50% CPU and +20% GPU power in any real game, not worth being spied on by win10
Out of interest what OS do you use?
Lol, just leave him be. Ignorance is bliss. ? I bet he’s on Windows 7.
I do, however, wonder if he owns a smartphone.

Looks like my 6 month wait on new games rule is paying off ?
We’re waiting an outrageously long time now since their first teases. There’s like dozen games going to have this miraculous driver and the chart grows longer. God damn, release some benchmark already…
Gears of War UE just show that DX12 is POS
Or… The game is just terribly optimized? Ashes of the singularity showed some good improvements with dx12 on amd gpus (Nvidia GPUs aren’t ready for DX12)
Alternatively, the UWP Platform Microsoft is attempting to shove down everyone’s throats…… SUCKS!
😮 what an amazing thought.
Tried DX12 on Ashes of the Singularity and it made no difference on my 980 and i7 4930k. Starting to think this may be another Mantle in disguise. Hopefully I’m wrong.
