Still Wakes the Deep feature

Unreal Engine 5-powered Still Wakes the Deep looks incredible in its latest gameplay trailer

Secret Mode has shared a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming Unreal Engine 5-powered first-person narrative horror game, Still Wakes the Deep.

Still Wakes the Deep is a return to the first-person narrative horror genre for The Chinese Room. The game appears to be taking advantage of both Nanite and Lumen, and looks absolutely incredible.

In Still Wakes the Deep, you assume the role of an off-shore oil rig worker, fighting for his life through a vicious storm, perilous surroundings, and the dark, freezing North Sea waters.

The game promises to have an immersive disaster story aboard a stunningly-realised North Sea oil rig, starring an authentic cast of Scottish actors. Players will experience the beauty and ferocity of the sea as it rips apart one of humanity’s strongest structures and its steadfast crew.

There is currently no ETA on when this new horror game will come out. As always, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Enjoy!

  1. 4K Ultra 40fps on 4090 – UE5 standard even in corridor walking simulator. Cant imagine people playing today on these 1060s still, how are you doing guys?

      1. same experience. I feel the innovation and attention to detail has disappeared from AAA games almost entirely while it was pretty much standard in the golden era from the mid-90’s to the mid-00’s.

  2. criticisms
    -Chinese room walking sim
-footage looks like they put brightness way up
-yellow paint everywhere so you know where to go, reminds me when that dude put yellow paint on the bathroom so his guest will know where to go as a joke, he plays boomer shooters.

  3. Yeah, I know it looks good graphically, but it looks nothing special, it looks like yet another generic indie walking sim “horror” trash released in the last 10 years after Outlast, game itself also looking like an Outlast clone.

  4. I love good atmospheric games. Hope this one can deliver a decent story besides the graphics. Walking sims are awesome to play while hitting the bong.

  5. no feminism, woke current year identity politics and token minorities and I might play this to breathe some fresh air
