Unreal Engine 5-powered MMORPG, Chrono Odyssey, gets official gameplay trailer

In November 2020, we informed you about a new open-world MMORPG, called Chrono Odyssey. And today, NPIXEL released a brand new official gameplay trailer for it.

This gameplay trailer will give you a glimpse at the game’s graphics, and its art style. Moreover, it packs some combat scenes and, to be honest, it looks kind of cool.

In Chrono Odyssey, players can experience a vast world with immersive stories, universe, and realistic graphics. Moreover, players can also enjoy unique job systems, as well as maps that transcends time and space. Additionally, players can expect random dungeon utilizes multiple spaces, large-scale RVR contents, high strategies, and excellent combat actions. Also, Cris Velasco, a global game music composer known for God of War, StarCraft, and Overwatch, participated in composing the soundtrack.

NPIXEL was originally planning to release this game in 2022. As you may have guessed, though, the game missed that release date window. And unfortunately, there is still no ETA on when it will come out. Still, it looks at least interesting.

Enjoy!

  1. I promise to read this article once I’m done laughing at the reviews for Redfall. It may be some time.

  2. You can already see how they’re not utilising UE5′ to it’s full potential due to the fact it’s an MMO. Online games are always downgraded to fit everyone’s system req. meh

At least east culture is still using sexy characters whereas western studios believe in LGBTQIA disgusting movement.

    1. So sick of LGBT lately…This cult goes very far in the destruction of our societies.
I keep watching videos about trannies “educating” our kids in schools recently… This insanity has to stop ASAP.

      1. That is truly disgusting. If only they would stop forcing it on us and our kids everyone would live happily ever after.

      2. Lmao my GF is also a Tr@nny, i love her, she gives the best of both worlds, i penetrate her and sometimes she penetrates me, lovely

lol at thinking Korea doesn’t have a gay movement

korean men get their nails done, dye their hair, and wear high heeled shoes, not sure you can find a more gay country on the planet lol

and lol at simping for a korean MMO based on the sexiness of pixelated characters

    1. You realize UE5 is designed to fix a lot of the major issues with UE4 right? The shader compilation, in particular, issue is resolved which is one of the biggest problems of launch UE4 games.

        1. We’ve actually seen it in the recent Horizon Forbidden West game. Its not the same engine but the concept is very similar though UE5 extends it even further. Basically, the game had issues with stutter from shader compilation and so they had you compile it before play as a solution. This was not well received by users. Thus they came up with a solution which was to have it compile at runtime on a secondary worker thread so it does not stall the main rendering pipeline which is what shader stutter is doing in UE4 games. However, it still wouldn’t be ideal because it would be on demand causing some deficiencies. They then developed an algorithm to pre-compile predicted shaders a bit in advance during runtime on that worker thread so it was ready. This ended up completely resolving all stutter compilation issues and also avoided the need to pre-compile at launch after driver and hardware changes. UE5 employs this and a bit more advanced setup in version 5.1.

Check the section Automated PSO Gathering if you are curious for details: https://portal.productboard.com/epicgames/1-unreal-engine-public-roadmap/c/852-automated-pso-gathering

Whether it will need further refinement or not or totally solve the issue out of the game remains to be seen but it should, at the very least, be dramatically improved. The old system in UE4 was, frankly, moronic.

  3. This is really interesting, You’re a very skilled blogger. I’ve joined your feed and look forward to seeking more of your magnificent post. Also, I’ve shared your site in my social networks!

  4. Am I dreaming?

A trailer which doesn’t use the bombastic drone and drum samples that literally every game trailer has been overusing since 10 years? OMG FINALLY!
Respect to the people who did this trailer, and of course the music composer. It reminds me of the good old days of Gothic 3 or even Outcast (Remember how incredible Outcast’s OST was?)
Finally some real music and not a composer wannabe who pushes one key in Kontakt sampler to automatically make some music.
It’s a Korean developer, huh? That explains a lot. Westerners have become so lazy…

Too bad I don’t play MMORPGs, this looks good.

  5. When a MMO looks better than Western single player games you know entertainment has been hijacked by banker fronts like Blackrock and Vanguard. Triple A, like Hollywood is now just bank propaganda with the cheapest activists they can find to work on the games. The best writers have been bullied out by the new hires with false accusations. See Chris Avellone who wrote KOTOR 2 who had to sue to clear his name and the lead on Witcher 3 who was cleared in an investigation and he ended up leaving the studio.

The smaller banks give bad loans to Hollywood/entertainment (Hollywood lost 500 billion last year), those banks fail, taxpayers pay the bill and then Hollywood is given more bad loans to keep the propaganda going. Have to keep people from ever realizing who the real enemy is and marching on the banks and Wall Street ever again. Keep them divided, fund anarchy and obsessed with identity politics.

  6. Another game I wont even touch.
MMO RPG is not a first person console style fighting stuff, but a mid ages atmosphere 3rd person top-down game with mind blowing crafting style, and a whole book what-does-what and at least a page of properties for each item.
U5 engine is a great base, yet fill this base with something which players will play for more than 10 minutes !
Runes of Magic let say in U5 would be awesome.. yet..

    1. This looks like MMORPG styled Dark Souls meets Black Desert Online. There will definitely be people into it. You prefer classical styled MMORPGs but they by no means need to all be like this. The main reason that was even a thing was due to technological limitations.

  7. Reminds me of that Bioware multiplayer game, the name of which escapes because it was that boring and flopped hard.

All that graphic fidelity and compute power is basically wasted on this kiddie game. What a waste…
