According to rumors, 4A Games may announce the next Metro game later this month. This new Metro game will most likely be called Metro 2039. And, apparently, two videos have leaked online that can give us an early look at it.
Let’s start with the name. According to Jez Corden, the new Metro game will be called Metro 2039. So, I guess this is a legitimate leak/reveal.
Now, the following two videos have been leaked online from this supposedly new Metro game. The first one is what appears to be the intro of the game. The second is a cut-scene from a part of the game.
As with most leaks and rumors, I suggest taking these videos with a grain of salt. These could be fake videos or videos from a new game that is not related in any way to the Metro series.
In case you’re wondering, no. These videos are not from the rumored Metro 4 leak that circulated on the Internet a couple of days ago. Metro 4 looked nothing like this. In fact, that Metro 4 game looked more like a mod for Metro: Last Light. This is the main reason I did not cover it. Something felt fishy. But this? Although it’s still WIP, it looks way better than Metro: Last Light. So, this isn’t footage from it.
The only thing that can make me feel a bit cautious about these videos is the weapon animations in the “basement cut-scene”. They feel too scripted. Then again, this is said to be a cut-scene and not gameplay.
Anyway, as I said before, take these two videos with a grain of salt. The only reason I’ve included them is because Jez Corden leaked the game’s title. If they are taken down, then we can be certain that they were the real deal.
