YouTube’s ‘NoBigDeal La’ has shared a couple of videos, showcasing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom running at native 4K with over 60fps on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090.
Now the good news here is that both the Nintendo Switch emulators Yuzu and Ryujinx can run the game. Moreover, it appears that overall performance is similar between them.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom came out on May 12th and was playable on these Nintendo Switch emulators on launch day. No scratch that. It was playable even before that.
So, after almost a month, the game now looks and performs incredibly well on PC. It’s funny really, but Tears of the Kingdom appears to be fully enjoyable on PC. After all, PC gamers can enjoy the game at native 4K and with higher framerates than what Nintendo Switch currently offers.
Speaking of this new Zelda game, I also suggest downloading this first-person mod for it. Created by ‘trevix’, this mod allows you to play Tears of the Kingdom with a first-person perspective.
Enjoy!

I’m assuming something cheaper than that would be possible of the same task
There could be if Nintendo updated their crappy console. Don’t expect 60 fps, 4k, defogger, visual fixes and other mods that make the game perfect imho.
Mouse injector first, then we’ll talk.
I still wish we get something like this one day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxvM1A_uHuI
True! These Redditor-tier soy trashes called BOTW & TOTK will NEVER be a true Zelda game no matter what they try to be, funny how Doom 3 keeps getting an overwhelmingly negative reception from players everywhere for being “un-Doom” and everyone calling it “not a Doom game!” Yet these brain dead Redditors proceed to suck BOTW & TOTK’s d1cks all the time and call them OMG BEST ZELDA GAME EVER AND ONE OF THE BEST GAMES OF ALL TIMES!!! Even though they’re the most fcking un-Zelda games ever and never even played a Zelda game before BOTW, even the obscure handheld Zelda spin-offs were still truer Zelda games than these trashes called BOTW & TOTK.
Chill. Doom 3 was/is fun and so are BotW/TotK. No need to go all keyboard warrior over a damn game.

Ever since you got a 4090 you seem to be on a high horse. Yes, you can enjoy a game at native 4K when you pay 10x the price. Who would have known?
I’ve been playing it for a month everyday now on a 3080ti 60fps. This isn’t news. The game was playable 10 days after release when yuzu updated its EA version and the FPS++ mod came out.
how’s your experience of this game ?
as I’m having a blast playing this gem , such a fun game !
It’s amazing really, that’s all I do. There’s so much stuff you can do that you never get bored. Graphics wise there are a few fps drops in cluttered areas, snowing/raining when a lot of information is on screen but other than that, stable 59/60. I have a ton of mods tho, so there’s that. Hbu?
My rig (i9 11th gen and 4070ti ) is giving very stable FPS 100 fps + 1440p shutter is there when shader is build and also sometime I have to delete the cache else it doesn’t open though its very less now in latest EA build . Yeah Item menu get cumbersome but I can overlook it as I’m having fun which is rare these days !
yeah tell me about it, I have like 150 games that i cba to finish. I even left Atomic Heart to play this. Zelda, luigis mansion and mario are pure nostalgia to an old fk like me.
Nintendo is busy making “Games” and not movies disguised as game like Soyny and Micro$oft . I don’t have much nostalgia as I never owned Nintendo console till I had switch . Playing their first party games melted my cynical heart and I started having fun again !
you missed the good old days when nintendo 64 was out and sony had their first console. I remember back then when the game cube came out with its revolutionary mini discs.
considering 3080ti is high end cards of course you would have no problem running it. i like yuzu but i hope it would match cemu performance level. i’ve been playing BOTW on cemu on my low-mid rig ( R5 3600, rx6600xt, 16GB 3200mhz) on 2k, hig resh mod and 90-100fps. play TOTK on yuzu with my rig still a stutter fest
yeap cemu is amazing in terms of perf. I was about to start BOTW again on PC this time but TOTK came out. I barely got off the starting island when totk became stable 60fps and I left it lol.
“Not sure what problem everyone else is having, but it seems to run pretty well in 8k on my $2,000 GPU. I did have to put my screen on the floor, since I had to sell my table to afford my GPU. PCMasterRace.”

Console gamers = die soon.
Wat?
is this game not really boring compared to older games..
Compared to Breath of the Wild it’s a pretty big improvement overall. I found BotW exploration boring but I can’t seem to put down TotK. With that said, there is still a lot of fluff that most of the older games do not have.
Why bother telling us the GPU? The main contributor to performance in emulation is the CPU, and this isn’t even noted. *shrug*
“After all, PC gamers can enjoy the game at native 4K and with higher framerates than what Nintendo Switch currently offers.”
No sh*t. Is this written by an AI ? Almost every paragraph just sounds like it.
Ok nice and fine that the worlds most expensive and fastest GPU can do that.. no wonder.. and what about the 99.99% of the PC gamers who own another GPU ?
This article would be more interresting if a low end GPU can achieve that.
Talks about emulation, points out the GPU instead of the CPU, great website.
Headline seems a little deceiving. I wouldn’t be surprised if an old RX 580 could do the same thing, considering Switch’s GPU is very low power. Article makes it seem like you need a 4090 for 4k60fps.
While 4090 is a bit overkill, from what I’ve seen, a RX580 can get to 1080p/60fps(still better than on og hardware), would love to see if their optimization patches for Yuzu/Ryu could help it get to 4k/60. Of course, the CPU matters more.
