Shenmue 3 – First official teaser trailer released

Deep Silver and Ys Net have released the first official teaser trailer for Shenmue 3. This first teaser III is built from a small slice of an in-development build of the game, and it delivers small peeks in new look of main characters, new characters, and feels of Shenmue world.

Shenmue III was officially announced on stage at Sony’s E3 2015 press conference and simultaneously launched on crowdfunding platform Kickstarter, breaking two Guinness World Records upon raising over $6 million dollars. The game is currently in development at Yu Suzuki’s independent company, Ys Net, located in Tokyo along with many original Shenmue team members.

The game is currently planned for a 2018 release.

Enjoy!

  1. Sometimes, it’s better for some series to stay dead. I’m trying to remain optimistic, but they’re off to a bad start with this weird facial animations.

  2. This is what they should of had on their KS as the bare minimum on day one.

I can’t believe this is all they have to show after 2+ years, an initial lump sum of 6.3 million, backing by Sony, and now full support and backing from the publisher Deep Silver.

I mean come on you can’t even animate the face of Ryo? 🙁 this looks really bad. If it did not have the name Shenmue behind it and you put this video up on KS today people would not even bother with it.

I get this is not a finished game(I fully understand what that means) but come on, you might as well not even show anything at this point(odd its a full blown Sony PS video considering it is in this state).

Disappointing 🙁 . At this point you might as well just go buy a PS4 Pro and go play Yakuza 6 and wait for 7 and call it a day. I would of waited till next year to show it since they delayed it till next year. Odd.

  3. GARBAGE!!! how the hell did this game 6 million dollars in funding
seriously?! these suckers learnt anything from mighty no 9? (plus it’s published by the same turd publisher deep $hitver: the german ubisoft)

    1. No joke… it can still have an anIme look without looking like crap. The background looks great. But the characters look horrible. Fanbois are arguing that it looks great. They are in denial.

      1. fanboys don’t use logic, they’re children basically
worst of all even if they know they’re wrong, they still gave money to this charlatan kickstarter even though they partnered with sony and deep silver (pockets deeper than the earth)

bah, games like these give bad names to indie developers

  4. The facial animations are actually worse than the Mass Effect: Andromeda ones. Actually, there are none at all: it seems like a 90’s game.

Just incredible that they had the nerve to show something like that.
