Rune: Ragnarok gets new in-engine pre-alpha trailer

Human Head Studios has released a new in-engine pre-alpha trailer for Rune: Ragnarok. As its title implies, Rune: Ragnarok is the sequel to the 17-year old Rune game.

The game is set in a dangerous universe where gods, beasts, and the last remaining humans struggle to survive, and promises to combine brutal melee combat with rich, Norse-inspired mythology.

There is currently no ETA on when Rune: Ragnarok will release. As such, enjoy the following trailer, courtesy of IGN, and stay tuned for more!

  1. Today I’m replaying unreal gold, but maybe next I will play “rune” because of nostalgia reasons. I’m very happy new Rune game is being made, come to us ragnarok :), we missed you.

    1. I have it installed right now on my pc, its so borring, half the game takes place underground and the combat is utterly simplistic. Pisses me off because the first level is basicly unreal and tomb raider with vikings. Why couldnt the rest of the game be like that.

    2. I’m reaplaying unreal 1 from time to time, because it’s one of the best
FPS I have ever played. Amazing atmosphere, music. Well, graphics is already dated (technology wise) but I’m still amazed seeing that game because it has great art direction, level desing, colors, basically everything looks just like an art regardless of old technology. But in order to run unreal 1 correctly on windows 10 I had to spend quite some time looking for fixes because mouse in this game didnt worked as it should. I had to use markc mouse acceleration fix, and also set CPU affinity to just one core for this game (in the taskbar manager) because this game doesnt work correctly ortherwise on modern multicore CPU’s.

      1. Mouse acceleration was not the biggest problem, unreal 1 (and basically all unreal engine 1 games) have jittery mouse movement on multicore CPU’s, that game works correctly ony on single CPU core so I had to disable all the remaining cores.

When it comes to Undying, I remember that game very well, it’s also unreal engine 1 title and that game was build with 3dfx glide in mind. Have you tried using 3dfx glide renderer in this game (you need “nglide” for that)? D3D renderer in undying was very bad as I remember, and “nglide” allows you to use custom resolutions.

      2. we will NEVER get a new unreal game. Fps nowdays cant be nonlinear with puzzles and platforming and interesting weaposn and enemies.

      1. Yeah seriously man, I wish we could get another PREY 2006 refresh, or a sequel.

I really miss old school shooters. BTW, do you know any good graphics/texture overhaul MODs for the game UNREAL 2, as well as WOLF 3D ?

I’m too lazy to search the internet, so I could really use some help, if possible, lol.

        Cheers.

  2. I like how this trailer comes out the same time as a new God Of War trailer. Will be keeping an eye on this game.

  3. More like why do japanese devs love Fenrir so much! The sea monster(serpent) was most likely Jörmungandr and the God is Loki. This is Ragnarok after all!
