    1. If you want the old Resident Evil, you have the old Resident Evil.
Everyone else would like something a little more 2018.
The fixed camera angles only existed because of extremely limited technology at the time. I, personally, while I loved the old games, will never accept them again. Not with modern rendering and twin sticks/KBM controls.

      1. “Everyone else would like something a little more 2018”

Zombie ‘diversity’, loot boxes, micro-transactions, in-game adverts, Games As A Service, missing content at launch and battle royale? ?

    2. As guy said, you can still play the old one. This is a remake. Meaning complete reimaging of the original.

I get that you would prefer HD remaster akin to one made for the first one but…this gonna bring in more people. Fairly sure vast majority of people who bought that HD remaster of first RE already played it on PS1 back in the day.

I feel bit sorry for ya thou 😀 it would be pretty cool if they had option of fix camera angles for people who actually preferred it. But that would be extremely complicated. It’s not even just making optin of first/person or third/perdon. Fixed camera angles have to be extremely deliberate.

I bet you gonna buy this game one day anyway…and that you gonna enjoy it. Even if it’s not what you would prefer.

    3. More people want 3rd person than fixed camera angle nowadays. Myself included despite really enjoying the original RE’s. If it was only fixed I’d still be just as excited for it but I liked RE4 as much as I did RE2. Fixed angle is a niche market.

Unless all you play is 90’s survival horrors with tank controls I don’t see why you’re offended this has a more modern control scheme. It still looks like a better game than anything else that came out in 2018, RDR2 possibly being the exception.

If you really want a more modern RE2 classic experience, there are mods that make it looks better.

      1. Don’t be a zombiphobe. They just want to share their culture with us and chew on some of us. We need to respect their ways.

    1. Yeah, I second this it is pretty useless, Twitter is garbage for any high quality video or even pics. I never needed convincing to buy this game it already looks incredible in all the YouTube videos + screens and it was already a day 1 for me.

Having said that I love to see a 4K version of this comparison video on YouTube for I think these types of video are real cool and show off all the hard work and are my jam.

  1. Did they keep the opening door animation loading screen for the sake of nostalgia or because the current consoles use chronically slow 5400rpm mechanical HDDs? /s

    1. are they still 5400rpm? i thought they were at least 7200 by now. Also I think the frequent loading screens were due to RAM limitation, not loading times.

  2. “the original movement system is great to master”

Yeah that’s a no. I’ve played every RE game and the “stand still to shoot” mechanic is the dumbest thing ever. RE 1-3 get a pass due to limitations and how they were designed but 4 & 5? No excuse with the tech available during their creation.

I can’t feel any real sense of urgency or fear when I can’t do simple things that I could do in real life or any other shooter (like move and shoot). On that note: Dead Space > RE 4-6

    1. RE4 is a way better game than Dead Space and I really liked Dead Space. Just because you can’t aim while moving doesn’t affect the game. RE5&6 are irrelevant.

    2. RE 5 and 6 are both trash and the shooting mechanics have nothing to do with the shooting system.
RE4 is also a much better game than Dead Space, the atmosphere and surrealism alone beat it.
