wasteland 3 feature

Player choice matters in Wasteland 3

After many delays, Wasteland 3, is coming at the end of this summer. IGN has recently released a developer diary where the lead designer of inXile Entertainment, David Rogers, talks about character creation, customization, and of course combat.

According to the lead designer, players will have a ton of granular control over every aspect of their character. Whoever likes deep crunchy stats is going to love diving into the derived stats of each character.

In Wasteland 3, after the apocalypse nobody came out unscathed, and everyone is a little crazy in their own way. This is represented in the character creation through the quirk system, which gives the character a powerful bonus, but it’s always tied to a super powerful penalty.

When building a party in Wasteland 3, it’s important to remember that you’re not just building an individual character. You are building a member of a team. The Ranger squad is a team of specialists, and each and every one of them has a specific job to do.

Your armored vehicle, the Kodiak, will help you survive the ice cold landscapes of Colorado. As you’re driving around and random encounters pop up, that Kodiak and it’s souped up energy cannon that you mounted on its hood, are going to be helping you blow your enemies to pieces. The Kodiak can also be customized to your liking.

Wasteland 3 will be released on August 28th. Thanks IGN.
