Fresh3D has released the first gameplay video for its upcoming remake of the classic adventure title, Outcast. The downside here is that Fresh3D used the 3D models from the first Outcast title, meaning that the gameplay video feels a bit odd and ugly. Naturally, this is WIP footage and does not represent the quality of the final product. Still, we’d love to see some new proper 3D models before the end of its Kickstarter campaign. Enjoy!

The old models gave a weird feeling indeed. 😡
Other than that, I like the way things are going, games nowdays needs the ambition that these guys had back in the day, hoping that this projects succedds and maybe open some minds. 😉
It’s unfortunate but the way things are going this is not going to get funded on kickstarter. Pledges have slowed down way too much and they aren’t even half way yet. Maybe they will try again on indiegogo or ulule.
Spread the word . We need this to be funded .
Geez, that looked really rough. They ain’t gonna get those missing 400k with demos like that.
The kickstarter well is drying up.
Going to have to say, as things currently stand, the graphics look pretty… well… bad, if truth be told. Quite apart from the original models, the environment looks flat and lifeless, and the beautiful water reflections from the original game don’t look anywhere near as good here.
Honestly, I’d much rather they just ploughed ahead and started work on a sequel or some kind of spiritual successor. The original game still looks great in spite of its low resolution and can be picked up from GOG for cheap.
