GEX Trilogy feature

New trailers for Fear Effect, Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection, Fighting Force Collection, GEX Trilogy and more

Limited Run Games has released new trailers for Fear Effect, Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection, Fighting Force Collection, GEX Trilogy and the Tomba! games. As such, I’ve decided to share all of them in one big article.

Bubsy returns with the Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection. This new collection is in development with the Carbon Engine, and it will be released in 2025.

Then we have the Fighting Force Collection. In Fighting Force, you and up two three friends have a simple, four step strategy: break things, get weapons, use those weapons to pummel people, and repeat as needed. It’s straightforward streetside carnage with a 3D flair. The collection features the two games that came out on the 32-bit consoles.

Gex Trilogy is the definitive edition of the classic platforming series. This trilogy will have some extra features, like rewind and save anywhere. Limited Run Games will release this trilogy later this year.

PlayStation fans will also be pleased to know that Limited Run Games will re-release the original Fear Effect game. Fear Effect will be coming to PC in 2025.

Clock Tower: Rewind is a revival of the terror-inducing 16-bit classic that dares you to explore the haunting confines of the Barrows family manor. As teenage orphan Jennifer, you must search every disturbing corner to find items, reveal secrets, and discover ways to evade Scissorman, a murderous, unstoppable, shears-wielding psychopath. Limited Run Games will release Clock Tower: Rewind in 2024. Moreover, the game will support both controllers and keyboard (though the devs recommend using a controller).

Enjoy!

  1. 1. Never give Limited Run Games money.

    2. It seems so much of the gaming industry is just rehashing old games and trying to sell them to gullible people who've never heard of emulation… which is exactly what this is. I remember when people would fight tooth and nail over how amazing the Virtual Console is while condemning emulation.

Just emulate these games, you'll get a better experience, and with the added benefit of upscaling and other graphical tweaks, all for the low low price of free.

    1. Some people can't help but needlesly throw their money away, with the hopes that these dead franchises can reborn in a modern fashion. Careful what you wish for is all i have to say.

  2. Limited Run Games is a scammy predatory garbage company.

The amount of shady * this developer has pulled is insane.

GEX Trilogy will be emulator junk that cost them 5 minutes to make, instead of an actual native remake.

  3. And nothing about Beyond Good & Evil – 20th Anniversary Edition announcement ? Who f*kin cares about those Tier C games anyway ?

  4. What's the appeal of these games over emulation? No noticeable improvements, and they wants us to pay for abandonware…

    1. It's for zoomers and normies who find emulation too complicated and scary.

Newer games are so garbage and pozzed that people are going back to old games en masse, publishers noticed this trend and this is their attempt to cash in on it.

      1. ha ha I was actually going to write that.
It feels like modern games are so disappointing that we prefer to go back to old games.
I used to play mostly emulators in the 2000s, then played lots of PC games in the 2010s, but now I'm finally going back to emulators.

  5. Fighting Force 1 terrible in this collection. It's the emulated PS1 version. There is a PC version with better framerate and unlimited resolution.

  7. I'm excited for fighting force collection. That game with mods will be amazing.
Fear effect is good as well I just hope they add no wobble option

    1. Are these even ports? looks more like mediocre emulation, I won't be surprised if the ps1 isos of the games will be in the games folder

  8. 99% of the time, PC ports of old console games are better played on emulators.
There are a few exceptions, when for example the Arcade version of a game is so insanely hard that it's more pleasant to play the PC version, which often allows to set easier difficulties.
Then again, cheats are possible on Mame…

Well, in this case, they're not arcade games, though.
They seem to be plain PC ports with some silly additions, so there's no real point.

Speaking of difficult games, I wish that someday they would make an easier version of Street Fighter Alpha 3…

  9. After playing the majoras mask pc port (n64 recompiled), I won't be spending a dime in old games "ports" thats not at least close to the QOL they added there (60fps, 4k, etc). what the hell they're trying to sell here? 240p resolution, very low frame rate, wtf? I can do way better with emulation, this looks more like a scam at this point
