New in-engine teaser trailer for Hideo Kojima’s OD

Now here is something that came out of nowhere. Kojima Productions has just released a new in-engine teaser trailer for its upcoming game, OD.

Kojima Productions announced OD back in 2023. From what we know, it will be exclusive to Microsoft’s platforms, or at least that was the plan back then.

OD was created as an attempt to take advantage of the cloud. Interestingly enough, the game will not be using the Decima Engine. Instead, it will be powered by Unreal Engine and will take advantage of Metahumans.

Kojima Productions has not shared any additional details about it. We don’t know when it will come out or what this game is all about. At least we can all agree that it looks great. Moreover, it will be interesting to see whether this title will be plagued by the usual UE5 issues.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Unreal Engine ? Thank you, the game just stopped interesting me. It would be like creating a new category of game genre, namely Stuttering games.

    1. There has been (from what I understand) lots of improvement to UE. The issue is that game development takes so long that basically every UE game we've seen to date is built on old versions of the engine. But we've seen the MS published Hellblade 2 be a great example of how it is possible to get good results even from the older engine builds. Between it being a Kojima production and being published by MS, I have high hopes for this. MS has a couple teams who basically exclusively work on getting the most out of UE and Kojima Productions have shown that they could get more out of Decima than even the studio that created that engine.

        1. I’m curious to reach that point (I will after I have tested all the GPUs). Right now, my 7950X3D reaches 80 degrees Celsius while playing, meaning that it’s working like crazy in the background. The game seems to have Async shader compute, so this is why I want to reach that point (and see if there is any stutter at that place).

          1. DigitalFoundry mentioned it did indeed have Async shader compute, although I think he said it wasn't noticeable on higher end CPUs it definitely did cause prolonged dips on lower end ones like the 3600.

  2. not this loser again

Once again, Kojima is a talenless hack, all his boring walking simulators with nonsensical writing suck.

    1. Couldn't agree more. OD will be the most overrated game of 2026 and beyond, next to the last of us. We want less of boring a*s gloomfests and more of tolerant and enjoyable epics like the Ghost series by Sucker Punch.

  3. Kojima productions using Unreal Engine ? Will be Interesting to see. Graphics look absolutely amazing though. Reminds me a lot of P.T.

  4. Why would a Sony/Guerrilla owned Decima Engine be allowed exclusively on Xbox? It made no sense, it would be if being multi platform. Kojima Productions is a highly skilled developer and they will do great with UE5. The engine is more advanced than Decima as it still does not have Raytracing yet. I have yet to see how butter smooth Decima will run with Raytracing implemented.

  5. GODJIMA, mah man Jordan Peele and Hunter Schaffer (fok yeah trans representation) letssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

And using the best engine in the industry.

Oh boy, the right whinnahs will have field day with this one, let's see them trying to cancel this LMAO, successful boycot like Ghost of Wokei's no doubt!

    1. You're kidding, right? Silent Hill has a long history of using grotesque, butchered creatures as allegory for trauma and mental illness.

I'll give Kojima this one; Casting a trans-faggot was inspired.

  6. Honestly, I really don't give a sh*t. The game awards teaser trailer for OD is the worst trailer I ever seen in my life, it proved absolutely nothing. First impressions are everything and it's already a goddamn joke.

  7. Im vaguely interested but I just can't jell with Kojima's games. They always just feel so tedious and foreign as cool as they do appear. Hope it turns out well though.
