Valve has released two environments/maps from Half-Life: Alyx that owners of the Valve Index can explore. As such, YouTube’s ‘2kliksphilip’ has decided to share two new gameplay videos in which he explores these environments.
The first video showcases Russell’s Lab, while the second video shows off City 17.
Do note, that these environments are not as interactive as their counterparts in the game itself. Still, they will give you a small glimpse at what you can expect from this new VR game.
Half-Life: Alyx is Valve’s VR return to the Half-Life series. The game tells the story of an impossible fight against a vicious alien race known as the Combine. Furthermore, the game is set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2.
In Half-Life: Alyx, players will immerse themselves in deep environmental interactions, puzzle solving, world exploration, and visceral combat. Players will lean to aim around a broken wall and under a Barnacle to make an impossible shot. Players will also rummage through shelves to find a healing syringe and some shotgun shells.

How can all games be equal the same price. The Witcher 3 in my book is worth $400, then I can see a game like RE2 remake being worth 60. But since as we’re not on my standards, then if the Witcher 3 is worth $60 then games like RE2 remake & DMC 5 should be Worth $2.35 cents at launch. Bundled together at $4.50 cents ? This game is dumbed down by VR, cause i see Alex use a technologies and things doesn’t exist in Half-Life 2 game, but no one gives a fk. I don’t trust Valve anymore it’s the same as Ubi. But at least we have Black Mesa the wrong game in the wrong time.

You said the game was dumbed down by VR, so I thought you were against it. I disagree with the idea that the game is going to be dumbed down by VR though, do to how many gameplay opportunities open up in VR.
It’s too bad this game will only release for VR but Valve has said that because it’s made from the ground up for VR it would not be possible to port it to PC that uses a monitor.
For whatever reason Valve seems to be trying to push VR. I don’t even know if they will make a profit on this game.
What they should have done is made Half Life 2 ep3. That would be profitable imo.
It’s pretty obvious why. They are pushing their $1000 Index. They don’t care if the game itself is profitable, but their over-priced system sure the hell is and it’s currently selling out so people are eating it up.
$1,000? Wow. I just checked Amazon and there’s 2 listings for the full kit. They want $2,000 dollars each. On Steam is says that a pair of controllers cost $280. People better be careful with those controllers. That’s a lot of money.
