New gameplay footage surfaces for the upcoming action RPG, Godfall

Arekkz Gaming has shared a new video that packs some new gameplay footage from the upcoming action RPG, Godfall. In this recent Godfall interview, we learn more about how we’ll unlock skills, level up, and earn loot.

Godfall is a third-person fantasy action RPG that focuses on melee combat. The game targets a Holiday 2020 release, and will be timed-exclusive on Epic Games Store. According to Gearbox, the game will come out on other stores twelve months after its EGS release.

According to the developers, the game is still under development, which means that some things may change. Thus, this gameplay footage does not represent the quality of the final build..

Godfall is set in a brand new high fantasy universe, filled with heroic knights, arcane magic and forbidden realms. The game attempts to combine action RPG elements/looting with melee combat. Naturally, players will be also able to customize their characters.

Enjoy!

  1. looks like kingdoms of amalaur.

Also i like this combat system if only dark souls was like that, it could still be hard just more like devil may cry, faster but deadly.

  2. Is it only me thinking that this guy doesn’t seem to be so much fun at parties with his machinegun mouth firing extreme amount of words per second?

    ?

  3. “The game will come out on other stores twelve months after its EGS release.”

Why are game developers and publishers doing this ? I can understand Epic Games Store has a revenue-share model of 88 percent for developers and 12 percent for Epic, handily outpacing Steam’s standard split of 70/30. No problem with this move.

But, STEAM and GOG have been the most preferred choice of platform by gamers, if I’m not mistaken, and VALVE also has a strong user-base as well.

So why this “exclusivity” deal with EGS ? Are STEAM, GOG, and other gaming platform users being treated as third-class citizens now ?

    But I digress.

    1. They generally get an advance in the order of several million dollars maybe 10+, plus a certain number of “guaranteed sales”. Basically even if the game flops and nobody ever buys it they make their money back.

    2. Probably Steam & GOG are not that important after all. As much as we hate it maybe the future is with Epic Store… But nothing is going to change for me cause i stopped buying games (i don’t care about new games).

      1. Fortnite generates billions of dollars in revenue. Last year it slipped a little to 1.8 billion dollars in revenue (about the same as Ubisoft’s entire revenue for their calendar year 2019-2020) but the game is still extremely profitable and goes a long way to pay for the exclusives and free games on EGS.

Last year Epic reported that there were 250 million registered accounts for Fortnite up from 125 million accounts in 2018.

    3. One thing that comes out of this is that people over at steam now know what GOG people have to deal with. Far worse than anything Epic has ever done, because we still don’t get most games over at GOG. So much that i stopped buying games all together. I won’t buy unless it comes to GOG. I wanna own my games. This launcher crap, always-online, needing internet connection to use what i pay for has gotten quite old for me. Luckily i don’t suffer from FOMO, so i can wait.

I guess they changed their minds, because from the beginning GODfall was always marketed as Epic & PS5 ONLY!!!

        1. Well GOG is trying to be for everything now, Just games period. But yes, has much more older titles. But publishers doesn’t wanna touch GOG because they want that DRM. The way i look at it is, if the game ain’t gonna use Denuvo just release it on GOG as well, cause Steam DRM alone always get’s cracked. Hell, denuvo stay getting cracked as well, so this false sense of security is just downright annoying.

But the perfect example is that of Metro Exodus, 1 year on Steam and then have to wait months more to get it on GOG. The so called Mafia remasters didn’t even hit GOG even though mafia 3 is on GOG and all the other mafias. I know this is everything we stand against, but a part of me want GoG to make Cyberpunk 2077 a GOG exclusive. the funny think about that is people would protest so hard even though a GOG exclusive is not an exclusive at all cause there is NO DRM. HAHa, i find that scenario to be crazy, cause people would still protest.

      1. Exactly. Epic makes a deal with the Publisher guaranteeing that their game will generate a certain amount of revenue or Epic will pay the Publisher any shortfall from their guaranteed sales out of their own pocket. In return Epic gets exclusivity of the game on EGS for 1 year.

    4. The 12% is irrelevant, because 70% from a lot of sales is better than 88% from few sales. It’s all about the money Timmy Tencent slides under the table.

    5. For the longest time Steam’s cut was 30% but in response to Epic opening their own store Steam restructured their cut in 2018. They take 30% of the first 10 million in revenue and for revenue that falls between 10 million and 50 million they take 25% and after 50 million in revenue they take 20%.

imo this really only helps the AAA Publishers because Indie developers don’t usually have really high revenue to get their cut down to 20%.

Publishers decide to make their game an exclusive on EGS because Epic guarantees them a certain amount of revenue for exclusivity rights. If the game flops then Epic pays them the difference between what they made and what was guaranteed by Epic.

    6. Because Epic is guaranteeing them a certain amount of sales, and if they don’t reach that, they pay the difference.
