Project Shadowglass feature

New gameplay footage from Project Shadowglass, a love letter to classic stealth games like Thief, Deus Ex, and System Shock

Starhelm Studios has released a new gameplay video for its new game, Project Shadowglass. This video shows off around 2 minutes of gameplay footage. So, if you are curious about it, you should definitely check it out.

Project Shadowglass is a stealth-focused immersive sim set within a dark fantasy kingdom. It will feature revolutionary 3D pixel art graphics and lasting consequences where every action could leave a trail back to you.

Project Shadowglass is inspired by classic stealth games like Thief, Deus Ex, and System Shock. You play as a thief who isn’t doing very well, until a mysterious person hires you to steal ancient artifacts hidden around the world. To complete these tough missions, you’ll need to think carefully, use your tools wisely, and pull off heists that seem almost impossible.

By day, you will plan and prepare from your humble flat in the slums. You can spend the gold you’ve acquired on new tools and items, upgrade your hidden workshop, acquire intel, and case your next target location. By night, you must move and act unseen if you wish to succeed. One false misstep could mean fleeing for your life, hiding for days, or engaging in terrifying melee combat that leaves marks remembered by all.

In the game, you can use light and sound to move around safely. You can hide in the dark, watch how guards move, and walk on quiet surfaces so you aren’t heard. You can also change the environment to help yourself. For example, you can put out torches, make distractions, and use objects around you to stay hidden. Players can sneak into locked or protected areas by picking locks, stealing keys, or climbing into places you’re not supposed to be. You can also deal with enemies in different ways: knock out guards, hide their bodies, or fight them in dangerous close combat.

Although there is no ETA on when the game will come out, Starhelm Studios has shared the game’s PC system requirements. PC gamers will at least need an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel i5-6400 with 8GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon Vega 8 or NVIDIA GTX 1050. The devs recommend using an Intel i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB of RAM and an AMD RX 580 or NVIDIA GTX 1660. Furthermore, the game is designed with Steam Deck compatibility in mind.

Finally, Starhelm Studios plans to release a PC demo for Project Shadowglass sometime in 2026.
