New Assassin’s Creed Odyssey trailer showcases the newly introduced dialogue choices

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that showcases its newly introduced dialogue choices. In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, players will be able to influence some events via a dialogue tree, similar to that one that is used in other RPGs like the Mass Effect series.

As we’ve already said, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey does not really feel like an Assassin’s Creed game as players will be able to choose their character (male or female) and influence some events via this new dialogue system. It’s a nice refresh, no doubt about that, however – and similarly to Origins which did not progress the future story of the game at all – it feels that the franchise has lost its original goal. I’m pretty sure that it will be a great game given the fact that Origins was too amazing, but it doesn’t feel like an Assassin’s Creed game (at least in my opinion)

Fans of Black Flag will be delighted to know that in this latest Assassin’s Creed game, players can take a ship and explore the islands of ancient Greece. So yeah, naval combat makes a return and will be will fast-paced, more closed-range and more intense than before.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey releases on October 5th!

  1. Sigghhh….

I’m sure I’ll enjoy playing the game, but I still don’t enjoy accepting that my favorite video game series is long lost… There was such romance and intrigue in that game before Ubisoft shafted its creators and turned it into an industrial formula.

  2. Makes zero sense… An animus reads hard-coded experiences in our DNA to view what happened…. It doesn’t allow you to make your own choices about what happened! This premise completely contradicts the nature of the animus and therefore the nature of the game. What good is using the animus to learn more about the real past and hidden artifacts held by either order if you just have your own, random experience in the animus each time? I thought the modern day was garbage in the last few games. Somehow I feel they’re going to make it even WORSE this time around with this idea. I didn’t think that was possible. Layla has to be one of the least likable characters in any AC game.

    1. >Layla has to be one of the least likable characters in any AC game.

I agree. She’s another bland “strong independent woman”. Not only she has built her own Animus machine but it’s also the best interface ever created because it can handle more than one DNA sequence at a time. It’s so ridiculous.
This reboot is such a joke (let’s be honest, it’s a reboot, Origins and this one have nothing to do with the old games), nowdays this IP is used to rewrite History to fit the [current year] ideology of the writers.

      1. Remember how Desmond had to undergo all those training to become an assassin, it felt natural. But Layla is “special” she did all those in one game only and without any training.
Also did you notice in AC 3 William Miles has a dialogue in the opening cutscene where he says – “Animus is a device used to view memories of ancestor and see their lives as they lived”. Guess Ubisoft don’t care about the lore they themselves established.

        1. AC1 and 1191 era ( Xi-XII centuries) supposed to be the birth of Assassins. Yet, “origins” of Assassins (and Templars lol) are in Ancient Egypt apparently.

          1. And apparently not even THAT, because now this game takes place more than 300 years before Origins, and somehow there’s STILL assassin’s with hoods and hidden blades running around.

        2. Well, Desmond was actually training to become an Assassin in the present day… In fact, that was the original purpose of putting him in the Animus after breaking him out of Abstergo, not originally to pursue the Apple of Eden. LAyla is not trying to train her real world, present day abilities to that of an Assassin’s. She is just exploring memories for information, at least, as far as I can tell??

But here I am defending this rubbish, when that’s no doubt what it is. They’ve destroyed the plot to this series. No doubt about it.

    2. One of the plot points of AC Odyssey is not being able to determine whether the body they are using is male or female. I do not recall this happening very often or at all in the real world.

      1. Happens all the time in modern Western societies culturally dominated by leftist politics! People can’t even make up their mind on their gender when they have every biological attribute possible to help make up their minds.

    3. Didn’t you know? Layla is “special”, her animus is “special”. Apparently her “animus” ,unlike the old animus we used, has the ability to alter time/history.

  3. At this point Assassins Creed is just going around different cultures doing the same thing, the first one was in interesting idea, they’ve just dumbed it down since or “streamlined” it as they call it.

          1. You either have your games mixed up or you refer to any hollowed out piece of wood propelled by a paddle, a gondola. Gondolas were a part of AC 2 when you visited Venice. AC 3 showed a screenshot of Connor in a canoe that was removed from the final release.

          2. Oh… I thought you meant that in AC:3, they removed the gondola that you had in AC:2 and Brotherhood. My mistake lol.

I wasn’t aware of the canoe in the game before release.

          3. Np. Where I am from a canoe and gondola are not called the same thing. I just assumed where you are from they could have been considered the same.

    1. They removed the bloodline aspect of it and started making anyone an assassin. It had all this mystery and mythos behind it before.

  4. could have split the game into two parts, one part as a greek in greece the other part as someone else in somewhere else then make these characters cross path multiple times and meet at the end, twist would be one of them being a templar the other one an assassin. this just took me 1 second to come up with. we all know ubishet is going to give us something generic.

    1. Basically, Adam and Eve mentioned from an earlier game? The “origins” in AC Origins were really disappointing.

      1. YES x 1,000

I immediately had to take a bowel movement when I realized there was nothing more to the “origin story” after finishing Origins. Much of that games’ story-telling and addressing of previous lore and items like the hidden blade were terribly disappointing, but getting to the end made it all that much worse. How a team of people close to this series were able to agree on that story being decent and decide to publish is beyond me.

    2. The game lets you make choices. Then it will come back and ask,”Are you sure you want to go this way?” It does this over and over throughout the game.

  5. this is ubishet jumping on trends to maximize their sale. has nothing to do with them trying to make good games.
i meant that they don’t even bother to make good games, they don’t want to, sale is all that matter to them.

    1. @JohnPapadopoulos Why is my comment getting blocked? Is it my use of the word “tran-eee”? Or do you just not agree with my opinion?

        1. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. Usually I get no response at all from others, or they have zero shame in admitting that they allowed my post to be removed because they personally disagreed with it.

    2. Their virtue signaling mission statement in all their games that they include all races, religions, and s3xual orientations and identities wasn’t enough apparently.

Next game you won’t only be able to choose biological s3x, but you can choose your made-up fantasy s3xual identity as well, until they get in trouble for limiting human s3xuality too much and have to open it up more the next game to offend less and less people.

One way or the other SOMEONE is getting offended. If little Johnny can’t have his reassignment surgery and become Jenny, he will be offended. If my daughter goes into the ladies restroom and a biological male comes in with a dress on and tinkles into the toilet with his Johnson while standing up, IIII will be offended.

The question is, who are there MORE of? The former or the latter? Shouldn’t we strive towards offending the smallest number of people possible, instead of catering to the smallest number of people possible and instead offending the majority? I would be willing to wager there are WAY more people that would be uncomfortable with a tranny using the restroom alongside them than there are trannies uncomfortable because they don’t have their own special bathroom. This lefty logic makes no sense to me. It has NO END DESTINATION. The end is the destruction of social normality, which in the States, Canada, and the UK, is a white European majority population. Once that’s gone, who knows which group will be next on the chopping block for being too normal or commonplace.

  6. I hope the days of well written characters come again and overtake this you can be whatever s*x you wanna be in video games.

  7. Imagine if dark souls had an easy mode. Imagine God of war without gods. Yeah, this feels just like that. An assassin’s creed game without the hood, hidden blade and assassins.

    1. This is a goal of liberals/sjw. They do not want anyone to work for or earn anything. They want everything given to them. Modern games are full of this mentality.
