Our reader ‘Frost Danger’ has shared with us a really interesting video, comparing the E3 2013, 2014 and 2015 versions of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. What’s really interesting here is that the E3 2015 looks better graphically than the previous builds, as Konami has added more visual effects to it. Enjoy the video after the jump!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Looks better in some scenes and worse in others.
actually they added the 80s filter once again
thanks again for posting my video 😀
I started like “Oh my, a upgrade!” which quickly evolved to a “Erm… there is a upgrade?”
Odd. :v
Oh come on don’t be like that, other companies give us messy ports, whereas Hideo Kojima is actually really close to these series. Do we need to be stripped of these privileges to actually enjoy what they are doing? Compare it to Rocksteady and Ubisoft who think that people will buy their games just because they are a trend nowadays.
I’m just pointing out my reaction to the graphics comparison. It looks odd to me.
Also, I do not hold a candle for Kojima nor Konami.
well you don’t have to, to appreciate how passionate the whole team is. I bet the end product is going to be amazing.
thank you for sowing the truth in your opinion,
How do you like that, Ubisoft?
This game is going to be the tits.
No upgrade, no downgrade. Simply a lighting difference (remember, game has a dynamic day/night cycle).
Not being downgraded is more than enough.
Who the f*ck compared different TODs and weather conditions like that?
Time of day is pretty much always different between E3 shows and later shows of games, it hides the downgrades so you can’t directly compare or that place may not be in the final game because it’s a slice.
They show the game on PS4 and if Ground Zeroes is anything to go by, PC version will look a lot better. Fox Engine was designed for PCs primarily. The game already looks great on Consoles.
