CI Games has released a new developer walkthrough for its upcoming strategic third-person action-RPG, Lords of the Fallen. Lords of the Fallen is coming in 2014 on PC, Xbox One and PS4, and its development is being led by Tomasz Gop, former Senior Producer of the award-winning The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings. WOW…looks awesome! The animations are so fluid, and the visuals and art style is pretty!
Dark Souls much? xD
OW that’s looks so cool.
I wonder if its using physX hardware effects as you could see smoke and dust move out of his way(arkham series type effects) as he ran through some areas and also when the Boss goes into aggressive mode, his sword makes those beautiful sparks/embers into the air. Similar to Planetside 2’s effects.
The other part of me doesnt think so unless this is only PC footage so far. As the consoles wouldnt be able to use physx. it may be all software though through physx if its optimized enough? who knows.

Regardless, this looks great and the art direction is awesome. I also think the movements are super fluid. I dont care if its not open world as long as its not super linear and still has some exploration.
Edit: NVM i saw the Nvidia PhysX logo after the gameplay video.
Damn this is how dark souls should have been, those animations, the dodge, so well made.
Also i like how the developers are honest on what they are making.
Exactly what I was thinking too….Dark Souls looks like shi# compared to this in terms of animations and character detail…this looks brilliant! Cannot wait to play it maxed out hopefully!.
It definitely has better animations than Dark Souls 1 but seems about on par with Dark Souls 2. I can’t wait for this though. It seems really good. I’m not too fond of the fast pace yet but then again, this is not supposed to be exactly like Dark Souls. At this point, I’m VERY VERY interested!!!!!!!
for future reffrence on how the camera, animatiosn and combat on dark souls should have been, this is how it should have been.
The animations in Dark Souls could have been improved but the pacing was perfect. This seems a bit faster but then again so does Dark Souls 2. I guess I’m gonna have to play it and feel it out to see if it’s a good thing.
So smooth
2014 the year of RPG’s 😀
Looks great!!!!
It looks very promising, although I’m not a big fan of RPG is on the Lords probably seduced. It would be nice if they showed some new gameplay. Well, you can not have everything.
