The Lords of the Fallen new screenshots-1

Lords of the Fallen gets an extended gameplay presentation

CI Games has released a 17-minute extended gameplay presentation for its Unreal Engine 5-powered action RPG, Lords of the Fallen.

Lords of the Fallen takes place in a vast, semi-open world, the new video showcases just a few of the many diverse and harrowing environments players will journey through in their epic quest to overthrow Adyr, the demon God. With each major area interconnected with at least two others, the order in which players venture through these lands is largely up to them. However, they’ll not only need to survive one world in this extensive RPG experience, but two, thanks to the game’s unique dual realm mechanic.

Alongside the living realm, Axiom, exists its undead counterpart, Umbral, with each realm featuring its own unique pathways, enemies, characters, and, of course, treasures. Equipped with the Umbral Lamp, players can cross over to this parallel world at any time, however, doing so will use one of their two lives. As for when a player dies in the living realm, they will automatically resurrect in the exact same spot albeit in the undead realm, for one final chance to survive… though the odds will be against them.

The Walkthrough Trailer also provides new details on the title’s uninterrupted co-op feature. To invite a second player to join their adventure, players need only visit an in-game rest point (vestige), where they can choose to either fight alongside a friend or randomly selected player. The co-op companion will then remain at their side for as long as either desire. Another new gameplay element Lords of the Fallen is introducing to the genre is the ability for players to craft their own vestiges. However, vestiges can only be done in very select places, and require an extremely rare resource to do so.

As well as numerous other gameplay details, the trailer also reveals the fully revised combat system players will use. According to the devs, players will seamlessly interweave melee, magic and ranged abilities. Alongside standard attacks, players can map up to four additional magic or ranged skills to their controller for immediate access. This not only allows for far greater combat variety, with the ability to string together an almost endless number of combos, but rapidly speeds up combat, reducing the need to swap out abilities.

CI Games will release Lords of the Fallen on October 13th. You can also find here the game’s official PC system requirements.

Enjoy!

  1. Looks like outriders or any other game made by genz f4gs. It’s got that homosexual friendly color palette on top of the uninspiring vomit inducing dull UE look.
The visual effects make me want to throw up, disgusting.

  2. if you showed me a screenshot of this game i wouldnt be able to tell you if its elden ring or dark souls 3, this is how similar this looks to someone who doesnt play those games, it even has blight town.

    1. That’s my issue with modern AAA and AA games to some extent. They’re all about chasing trends nowadays rather than trying to create something unique and refreshing.

Some of my favourite genres are 3D platformers, spy espionage and Sci-Fi and yet we almost never see any of those nowadays besides some generic Sci-Fi stuff. It feels like forever since we’ve had a decent epic like the Mass Effect trilogy or even immersive sims like Deus Ex with deep storytelling.

I’m aware that we’re getting things like Project 007, Perfect Dark and Starfield but it just doesn’t bode well for me due to how tainted the industry has become.

      1. i remember how there was this meme that you had killzome 2, call of duty and medal of honor warfighter and all of them were the image of a m4 with a holographic sight and a generic military dude, the meme said 3 different studios, 3 different games.

Innovation isnt successful though, the movies was an interesting game but it didnt sell, speaking of which there is a game like it now called one military camp.

        1. Well, I mean not a lot has changed, except we now have this rise of gender-confused protagonists who for some reason share similar haircuts and hair dye. And most of the effort seems to focus on remaking older material which goes to show how lazy most companies have become.

You can’t really make anything new without comparing it to something that has already been done before in this day and age. So it’s either you have some standardised military game with a masculine military dude on the game cover or the modernist/progressive take on all of this stuff. For me upcoming games like The Finals looks like an effeminate version of Brink.

You’re right. Innovation can be a major detriment for most companies, hence why we only ever see it happening in the indie space. But one could hope with all the cash grabs in the AAA and AA scene they can at least create some genuine products that’s made with effort and passion but that’s wishful thinking.

          1. It’s a management problem, they are the ones that set the rules and if you look at who manages these companies it’s a white bread White guy that 50+ years old and likely couldn’t program a universal remote. They are mostly MBAs and business school graduates who don’t know a bit from a byte, an electron from a proton or their own a*s from a hole in the ground.

          2. I agree but you gotta remember that the people who manage a lot of these companies are still holding onto the same position or have moved up in rank after all these years. Bobby Kotick has always been the CEO of Activision since the early 90s and that company went from making tons of unique and varied experiences to now one that mostly relies on its already established and well-known IPs whilst milking the hell out of those. It’s the same case with Ubisoft and their CEO. These guys know exactly what they’re doing every time they mess up and we all know that is all fuelled by their insatiable greed.

It’s not always true that a management team who lack the ability to program, draw or whatever is a clear indication of how bad a game will end up being. Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka who founded Bioware both studied medicine and business in university and I don’t think they have a single clue on how to make games. Yet after they left Bioware instantly became the shadow of its former self.

          3. Are you referring to 50+ year-old white degenerates who seek ESG points and support Joe through their votes?

          4. How many times did yo j3rk off to this weirdo? I bet you have a lot of sh*t pics on your PC too.

      2. Well I say to some extent because the only ones who are really keeping this hobby of mine on life support are indie developers. I’m always feeling pessimistic about gaming but I’m often reminded of games like Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Sifu, Valheim, BattleBit Remastered, etc. Sure they’re not always going to be everyone’s cup of tea but at least they give me an ounce of hope for the future of indies from small scale all the way up to AAA.

If people continue to support unethical companies like EA and Ubisoft and don’t bother with the games I’ve listed then the industry will continue to remain in limbo or deteriorate even further.

    2. everything is the same, the only way we gonna get a good game is if someone makes one and makes so much money that everyone decides to copy it and its easy to do so, otherwise they gonna keep copying ubisoft and souls like games.

    1. There are shields, the character in the demo even parries the boss multiple times and follows up with a riposte. shields and parries are in.

  3. Hard pass. Looks too much like Dark Souls. I don’t find grinding away at health bars of enemies with massively powerful attacks fun at all. It’s a frustrating game mechanic for all but those with lots and lots of play time on their hands (kids and the unemployed).
