Kingmakers feature

Kingmakers just got a new official gameplay overview trailer

TinyBuildGames has released the official gameplay overview trailer for Kingmakers. Kingmakers is a game that took the Internet by storm when it was revealed in March 2024. So, make sure to check out its latest trailer.

In Kingmakers, players will travel back 500 years, to medieval England, in order to change the course of a bloody war.

The big feature of Kingmakers is that it can push thousands of enemies on screen. Not only that but you can use modern weapons to kill your enemies. So, for instance, you can use an AK-47 to shoot knights. Or you can use grenades and rocket launchers to wreak havoc on the battlefield.

As the devs have noted, every soldier on the battlefield is controlled by a next-gen multi-threaded AI which controls their decision-making, pathfinding, and loyalty. This, combined with a unique procedural animation system, will allow Kingmakers to offer an unprecedented level of character and combat fidelity.

In Kingmakers, you can seamlessly switch between combat and issuing orders, at any time. So, think of it as something like Shiny Entertainment’s Sacrifice. You will be able to directly issue orders to the warriors or leave it up to the AI and focus on the battle. You’ll also be able to allocate legions of archers, swordsmen, spearmen, and cavalry, build fortifications, and plan your next move.

This looks ridiculously fun. Sadly, though, there is still no ETA for when it will come out. All we know is that TinyBuildGames aims to release it sometime in 2025.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Damn, this is what we thought the future of gaming will be in the early 2000s.

  2. I've heard from the Digital Foundry interview that the devs already got this game running on the Steam Deck.

Really curious to perform an analysis on this one once they upload a working build onto Steam.
