505 Games and Remedy announced a new third-person supernatural action-adventure game, called Control, and below you can find a video showing 8 minutes of gameplay footage from its E3 2018 build.
Control is set in a unique and ever-changing world that juxtaposes our familiar reality with the strange and unexplainable. After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, players will take on the role of Jesse Faden, the new Director struggling to regain Control.
This sandbox-style, gameplay-driven experience built on the proprietary Northlight engine challenges players to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through the deep and mysterious worlds Remedy is known and loved for.
Remedy’s game is currently planned for a 2019 release.
Enjoy!

Interesting to see the character is in the centre of the screen like the good old days instead of the left side of the screen we have in almost all TPS these days.
Why is the protagonist a MILF ????
The better question is why don’t more games do this?
Why should they?
Why should they? Answer the question.
Studies have shown that having a female protagonist increases the likelihood of women buying the game, while not having any appreciable decline in the number of men that buy it.
So from a financial POV, it makes sense. You always want to increase your consumer base, and female gamers are one of the big targets these days.
Variety? Not everyone wants to play as a dudebro, or quiet burly man.
DIVERSITY…shes hot though.
Why does it matter? Can’t you just view the character as a character and not an object?
Looks good. Feels alot like Quantum Break 2.0
So many lesbian games, with none of the action that we want to see.
Looks too much like Quantum Break :
I mean, it’s from the same developer using the same engine. What do you want?
Most artists have a style that shines through no matter what they’re doing. This is basically the same situation.
There was a greater difference b/w Alan Wake and Quantum Break. Control just seems like an extension of Quantum Break.
Looks cool. Reminds me of Jean Grey, from everything from the powers to her hair colour.
I’ll give Remedy props, they always have very interesting game ideas and Sam Lake truly is a visionary in many ways. They sadly never have managed to make a truly amazing game since Max Payne.
Hopefully this game will be good. The environmental destruction looks insanely good.
They probably lost their touch, and they probably won’t be back with this, this might be a bit better than quantum break, i’d settle now for something as good as alan wake even if that game is nothing more than a good game, i’d hope for something half as good as max payne.
“They sadly never have managed to make a truly amazing game since Max Payne.”
Alan Wake says hi.
Alan wake is not even close to max payne, but it’s nonetheless a good game
No, max payne is THAT great because of the story and because of how it was narrated and for what remedy could do with so little money. If you think bullet time is the best thing about it, i really don’t know what to tell you. If you were too young then, just go on and play it now, besides, the fact it didn’t require any particular skill or thinking doesn’t make it bad, not at all, it’s just a third person shooter noir game.
Alan wake is a good game, but, not even close to max payne, because of the meh story, and the just meh gameplay, since you can clearly see the game aims much higher than what came out.
Bullet time is one of the features that stand out, surely a gameplay choice, which is good, but people who played and understood it, don’t remember it for the bullet time, but for the style they used to narrate the game, and how good and well thought the story is, not mentioning the atmosphere, and how impersonated in the character you feel right from the start, and it gets better as you go on.
Well surely won’t give you the same feeling now compared to when it came out and following years, but that’s up to you to understand that.
I don’t understand why you always seek for a challenge, not any game is made or thought to pose one, and many would even look bad with it, besides i dare you playing max payne 1 at the max difficulty and then come back here saying it’s simple…
Max payne 3 wasn’t received so well because of the BS story it has, you feel right from the start it’s a marketing stunt, and the narration is similar to its predecessors, but it’s made worse and less atmospheric, the first 2 felt and looked like a noir comic book, the third looked almost nothing like a comic.
Can’t say anything about technique, because that’s the only good part of it.
“. There was nothing BS about Max Payne 3’s story”
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA
LOL
Better atmosphere? No, it just had a different type of atmosphere, which was good, no doubt, but wasn’t handled the same good way mp’s was. Max payne 3 story had nothing (pretty much) to do with the old story, it’s some kind of cheap drama story, with nothing from the real max payne, only few flashbacks and s**t just to give you some shiver down your spine, and it stopped there.
As i already said, these kind of action games, with that kind of story and narration, don’t need any of that, and if you put something like that in the game you might as well ruined it, because that story has to run smooth and with not bs puzzle or anything to slow the pace down or make you lose time, the game is also about max being eager to find the truth so he basically never sleeps, but only a few times in which he has nightmares, and that’s another reason why you would never put any “delay” such as puzzles and similar into a game like MP.
If a game like max payne would come out today, with today’s graphics and overall technique, it would deserve a 9/10 and be praised for a great story and good gameplay, which is all a game like that needs. I don’t think so, because the story makes sense and it’s well narrated, unlike basically every similar game that comes out today.
Maybe we’re not disagreeing on the vote but apparently your 8.5/10 on max payne is my 9/10 and your 8.5/10 Alan wake is my 7/10, so there’s something a bit weird going on.
I honestly can’t think of any game that compare to Alan wake, but doesn’t make it great.
Ok name one game that compares and was a good as max payne in shooting and story telling, even only story telling is enough, just to make it a bit simpler, with this we’ll see who’s subjective and who’s objective.
I said “that compares”, those game have 0 to do with max payne, besides i notice you’re another of those who thinks there’s something good about Deus Ex MD, we can end the conversation here, because i’m really not talking with someone who thinks Deus ex MD has a good story telling. And silent hill is a much better horror, since alan wake is barely horror.
Still not one of them has similar or comparable story telling style, and not as good as max payne, because there aren’t, in fact i can’t think at any game, even completely different that has a better story telling than max payne, and some of those you mention, have almost no story telling.
“. It was a casual game ”
BUT ALAN WAKE WASNT 10 TIMES MORE CASUAL?
Please max payne is hard.
“They were both casual the same amount :)”
HAHAHAHAHA
dude seriously stop. alan wake had slow moving enemies that you aim your flashlight a bit and double tap with the pistol to kill them, max payne required you dodge shots or you take tremendous amount of damage that takes a lot of time to heal….WITH PAINKILLERS, WHICH ARE RARE….WHICH YOU NEED TO LOOK FOR, WHO ARE HIDDEN….no health regen. Also guns never shoot straight, unlike max payne 3. You need to replay max payne.
I don’t recall having any issues with Max Payne at all, or Alan Wake for that matter.
Both were great games though. Difficulty really doesn’t matter if you’re having a good time.
Far better story than Max Payne games.
“System Shocker” Get outta here idiot.
Strong arguement indeed. How old are you again…?
Surely too old to mind people like yourselves, or their opinions.

>please.
Obviously not old enough to make a proper counterpoint. Also, taking into account e-pennis/post count to weigh other peoples’ opinions, speaks volumes of your immaturity lol. For the record, I prefer to actually play games instead of bicker and whine about them.
We’re done here, bye.
Yeah, run along kiddo.
Alan Wake is a prime example of interesting game ideas that fail to live up to the original idea. It was a decent game, just not exactly what I’m talking about since the scope of the game was pretty much slashed from that crazy open world original idea and even the original gameplay idea for it was changed.
You either don’t recall the release of Max Payne, are to young, or simply are willfully ignorant of Video Game history if you really think Max Payne wasn’t an original game when it first came out. There was literally nothing like it released before it.
Being influenced by a movie doesn’t make your game unoriginal and Max Payne has f*** all to do with being a rip off of The Matrix. John Woo was doing it for years prior which is the actual influence for Max Payne. That and a heaping spoonful of Neo-noir.
I don’t mind not being open world after all, as I suspect it would hurt the coherence of its story telling. Gameplay wise it was not as original as Max Payne 1 & 2, but still it was a very enjoyable ride.
NOPE
YEP.
Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of all time. I really enjoyed playing it. There’s just nothing else like it. Maybe it’s time for a replay.
Quantum Break is actually a good and a solid game compared to Uncharted in terms of gameplay, and the PC version can compete with it easily in terms of graphics, the downside is that wannabe TV Show that cost a lot of money and ressources/time that can be used for a more lenghty campaign and some polish for the gameplay part, the compressed videos and the in-engine ones can do the work flawlessly without this stupid Live Action sh*t
I don’t know. QB ran really bad on PC. It might have more realistic effects and such, but unless you have a beast of a rig, you’re forced to play with upscaling, aliasing, all kinds of image crawl and image abnormalities, and it really put me off. The latest update added all kinds of lighting issues too that they just never fixed.
Uncharted looks real clean and smooth, and to me that’s more important.
Uncharted runs at 30 fps, if you call that smooth man we have a problem, but let’s forget, i don’t know what lighting issues you are talking about, and if you think 30 fps is smooth, you can still play QB at stable 30 fps without upscaling and with an average rig
When I said smooth I was referring to the image quality, not the frame rate.
I just tested it and yes, the image issues are still there. Shadows and lights do all kinds of crazy. it’s very distracting. You can see it in the Digital Foundry video that covered it last.
There is some temporal ghosting and and low shadow resolution (even on Ultra) here and there, but even Uncharted has some temporal aliasing and jagged shadows sometimes specialy on non-Pro PS4 due to lack of downsamplig, and i never say’d it’s better, i say’d that it can compete with it easily, specially when it’s comes to global illumination and physics, but i have to say that it has some bugs when the main Data file is corrupted, the game can launch without issue if that 56GO file is corrupted, but there will be artifacts like flashing lights, and weird textures, i recommand you to verify game cache and retry, check my screen to see an example https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ec8a87f9cadfeceb9cf1cc7a1ea9db33e47f41bc14103daa58e7f58b7fb7baf8.png
Its so horrible that it wont even do locked 30 in Native 4K, the moment you disable upscaler, game over and im on overclocked 1080ti
IMO Alan Wake was amazing…not quite the level as Max Payne 1, but still great!
It looks really good. I like the physical interactions.
If someone put out a third-person shooter that was grounded more in reality with just guns, no silly powers, just John Woo-esque guns akimbo action, I would literally pay money for that video game and then play it on my personal computer using my mouse and keyboard to control the character. I would literally do all that.
You think John Woo akimbo action is grounded in reality?
Seems like finally someone made a “Half-Life gravity gun” weapon. Awesome !!
In other news forza horizon 3 and forza 7 have been cracked.
I dont how good the cracks i did not try them but just to let you know
Nothing too original about Max Payne. They ripped off the Matrix when it was hot.
Yeah, because using a single effect that the Matrix copied from other sources makes Max Payne a “rip-off”. Please.
Glossy finish without any substance, looks like. If they said this was an expansion for Quantum Break, no one would question it, which isn’t a good thing.
OH LOOK ITS QUANTUM BREAK 1.5
SHUT UP ITS A NEW GAME, JUST BUY IT.
Looks awesome, I am going to get it for sure!
maybe story will be good, but gameplay is booring and lame.
I am not very impressed right now tbh…I was hoping for something more realistic and less of this floaty physics, which to me looks exactly like Quantum Break! And to their credit, it did look amazing in Quantum Break, but now the “wow” factor is no more for me…lets wait and see how it turns out.
SOLD, ill take superior PC version please.
